Europe's largest economy is sending recession signals.
Germany's key future indicator, the IFO survey of business confidence, pointed down for the fourth month in a row as high inflation fed by astronomical natural gas prices undermines consumer pricing power and imposes heavy costs on businesses. ...
High energy and commodity prices are weighing on demand and putting pressure on profit margins, said Carsten Brzeski, chief eurozone economist at ING bank.
Companies can no longer pass through higher costs to consumers as easily as in the first months of the year.
Company order books are shrinking, while businesses that use a lot of energy, such as bakeries, are facing costs that make them question whether they can stay in business.
The news comes as more economists predict a recession for Europe as a whole.
Germany was heavily dependent on cheap natural gas from Russia, which has cut back supplies to a small fraction of what they were before the February 24 invasion of Ukraine.
Gas is used to keep homes warm, run factories and generate electricity.
European officials say the cutbacks are an attempt to pressure governments out of their strong support for Ukraine and for economic sanctions against Russia. ...
But experts say Europe will still need to make a serious effort ahead of the winter heating season to conserve gas.

The truth is out concerning the effects Bidensanctioms against Russia have had on average Europeans and Americans and, in the links below, people are protesting in numerous EU countries, triggering Zelensky-supporting, libtard EU officials.
Secondly, the truth has come out about how areaa are getting shelled for voting in the referenda in Ukraine, which carries no more or no less reliability than the 2008 Kosovo “referendum” which was just an assembly raising of hands, not a real referendum, and yet hastily accepted by the west.
People have been threatened with jail time for voting in the recent, ongoing referenda and thus why there would be a need for soldiers in.voting areas to ally the fears of voters and protect them from potential attack or arrest by Ukrainians, especially in areas near(er) conflict lines.

Live from Lubmin on Sunday, September 25, as people take to the streets to protest against current energy policies, skyrocketing prices, and inflation. Protesters demand the immediate opening of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The Nord Stream 2 project, a second pipeline pumping gas from Russia to Germany, was unilaterally suspended by Berlin in February following the conflict in Ukraine.

Energy crisis? Somebody should ask Al Gore and Greta Thunberg what to do. Between the two of them, they know everything.
I like how many of these types of articles say something like “Storm Clouds are building over possible recession”, the recession isn’t possible it’s a forgone conclusion, the EU and particularly German is going go into economic contractions that has already started.
The media might try to cover it up to make it seem like the recession is not that bad and the worst is over. IMO, it’s only just begun until the situation gets settled in Ukraine and the other major western economies stabilize, will things start to turn around, how long that takes, who knows.
The mediawhores have become a caricature of a parody. If Republicans had congress and the WH, they would have declared a recession 10-seconds after the 2nd consecutive negative quarterly GDP print. And this would have come after 3 months of coverage - with breathless anticipation - of the approaching recession after the 1st negative quarterly GDP print.
European gas storage, which in Germany is now over 80% full was never designed to satisfy usage through the winter.
The amount of gas storage is designed to handle periods of peak usage when demand exceeds the relatively constant inflow of gas from sources. Without constant inflow during the winter, the stored gas will be quickly consumed.
How can they with certainty predict peak usage?
And how can they rapidly replenish it?
/rhetorical questions.
Currently, the entire globe is in a recession, or reporting bad numbers.
It might to just come down to who to believe.
But my sense is things are bad world-wide.
But some countries, like within the EU, are worse off than others.
Biden tried to claim the US had the least inflationary increase %, but a map concerning inflationary increases of numerous countries was shown on Fox News refuting his claim.
