In a recent interview with David Axelrod on “The Axe Files,” CNN news anchor Chris Wallace stated that former President Donald Trump (R) was “going in a darker and more extreme direction” by citing 45’s most recent rally in Ohio.
“What worries me is that the more he’s held accountable for acts of corruption, the more he is insists on the, that the system is corrupt,” Axelrod stated about Trump, adding, “And that becomes more and more central to what he is saying. And he’s been heading in this direction for a long time.”
“But how do you assess him right now?” Axelrod asked the former host of Fox News Sunday. “What do you think is going through his mind?”
“You know, I think. Let me make it clear to social media, I’m not comparing Trump to Putin,” Wallace began in response, adding, “but there are some similarities here, which, as a person gets under more and more pressure, there are a variety of ways of reacting.”
“You know, the old saying, when you’re in a hole, stop digging. Putin isn’t doing that,” he continued, per Breitbart. “And, you know, one could argue that Trump–not comparing them to Putin. But in a kind of tactical or strategic sense, is not doing that.”
“You know, you had that weird thing over the weekend where he started talking about the country in very dystopian terms,” the podcast guest explained. “they started playing this music and people were putting up one finger and it seemed, not that I’m in any kind of an expert on this, kind of heading in the QAnon direction.”
QAnon, a fringe movement on the right, has been used by left-wing journalists and Democrats to malign the majority of conservative Americans. Chris Wallace, who hosted Fox News Sunday for well over a decade, knows better than to generalize his former audience.
The journalist’s assertion is ludicrous and Wallace is using his inflammatory rhetoric to demonize everyday Americans, taking a page from President Joe Biden’s recent statements that called conservative Americans “semi-fascists.“
He then turned to the multiple investigations launched by the Department of Justice, a Georgia district attorney, and New York Attorney General Letitia James. The latter recently announced a civil suit against the former president over the value of his real estate, which even former Attorney General Bill Barr called “a political hit job,” and an “overreach,” per The Hill.
“And what one wonders is, and he is under tremendous pressure,” Wallace emphasized, adding, “in terms of the January 6th investigations, in terms of the documents, and in terms of what he conceivably or may have done down in Atlanta with the DA there, now you’ve got Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, on whether he committed fraud by inflating the value fraudulently of his businesses.”
“You know, he seems to be going in a darker and more extreme direction in terms of American politics,” the son of 60 Minutes reporter Mike Wallace stated. “And, you know, that would be interesting, but not particularly important, except for the fact that there are millions of people who seem to be willing to follow him in those directions.”
“And that gets very alarming because now we’re talking about the future of American democracy,” he concluded.
Wallace’s failing career has led to him becoming yet another left-wing journalist bashing the America First movement and conservative Americans. Despite working at Fox News for nearly two decades, he flocked to the failed CNN+ to abandon his conservative audience.
Wallace should look at his own rhetoric before he attacks President Trump for going “darker” and generalizing his supporters all for the sake of earning brownie points from his fellow left-wing journalists.
The problem with is that, for purely political reasons, they want very badly to persecute the guy. Which is exactly why we are where we are.
Mike Wallace should have had a vasectomy.
These losers know that the only way they can be guaranteed face time is to bash Trump.
Are pavlovs lemmings still salivating every time some random news wonk says “orange man bad” two years after the orange man was vanquished while the economy is actively crashing?
Is it wrong to wish someone gets run over by a truck?
No he needs to be post birth aborted. (Surely that’s perfectly fine with libs, no?)
LOL, yet another example of one journalist interviewing another one. That is what passes for “journalism” these days.
That is a fair assessment.
President Trump (and citizen Trump before he was president) was assaulted by Hillary, foreign spies, leftwing media personalities, and rogue operators within our government. Further, Russiagate was an assault on America and the voters.
These are facts. They are not even in dispute.
Yet media leftists continue to pretend it never happened.
And this is after millions of dollars poured into investigating the VICTIM, rather than the perpetrators!
The Obamas, Bidens, and Clintons committed endless crimes, openly and have NEVER been investigated. The closest we got was a window dressing, face-saving “inquiry” into Hillary’s illegal email and phone scheme (with Obama’s knowledge and consent).
Yes, we have a corrupt Deep State, and Chris Wallace is in on it.
Not if its an ice cream truck. Then its nice.
As someone who knows a few of those lemmings, I can attest the answer is a definite “YES”.
He’s a eunuch already - doesn’t need it.
This quoted phrase is a lot to unpack - CNN; news anchor; CNN news anchor; Chris Wallace; news anchor Wallace; CNN Wallace - it is an example of very very tight writing. As the unwoke cancelled Mark Twain famously wrote about the spare writing style of William Dean Howells Venetian Sketches " I find it a case of a woman packing a man's trunk: he can get the things out, but he can't ever get them back again."
You can get all kinds of thins out of that one little phrase.
Who is trying to stay relevant - that guy that killed the CNN fake news streaming service?
He has nothing nefarious to be held accountable for. Obviously since they are struggling to manufacture something.
:I’m not comparing Trump to Putin...” “there are some similarities here...” “...not that I’m in any kind of an expert on this, kind of heading in the QAnon direction.”
Basically says he’s not saying what he’s saying.
ahhhhhh, stfu Chris.....https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2022/09/25/cnn-to-be-sold-to-fox-news-that-would-be-hilarious-n1632057
And people like this have the audacity to pretend to be impartial Pres. debate moderators.
