Arizona outlook turns bleak for Masters, GOP

The hourglass is running low on Blake Masters and his chances to reverse course in the Arizona Senate race as Sen. Mark Kelly (D) keeps up his offensive on the airwaves, leaving Republicans pessimistic and turning their attention elsewhere on the 2022 map.

Masters, the Peter Thiel protégé-turned-politician, found himself on the wrong side of the multiple developments last week, headlined by the cancellation of $9.6 million worth of ads by the Senate Leadership Fund — a group backed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). In addition, a new poll on Thursday commissioned by AARP showed Kelly leading by 8 percentage points.

“McConnell would rather be the leader of a muzzled Minority, than have to compete for the leadership of a raucous Majority.”

You’re so intent on bashing McConnell you’ve abandoned all reason.

The Republican Majority Leader is elected by Republican Senators.

Right now there are 50 Republican Senators, meaning McConnell has the support of at least 26 Republican Senators (and proabably a lot more). If Republicans end up with 51 seats next year, those same 26 Republicans are all that is needed to elect McConnell as Majority Leader. If there are 52 or 53 Republican Senators, only 27 Republicans are needed to give the leadership to McConnell.

McConnell has the leadership role locked up if Republicans add one or more Senators, not believable that McConnell is going to sabotage Republicans because he wants to remain Minority Leader.

I wonder why Thiel cut off the money?

Anyway McConnell is 80 years old. Soon to be yesterday’s news. Time to focus on who replaces him as majority leader in the Senate & who replaces him as a senator from Kentucky.

Repeal the 17th Amendment!

NO ONE should take a poll seriously that has been commissioned by AARP. They are nothing but a left-wing ally of the Democrats.

100%

I wondered this too. I wonder if he is walking in lock step with McConnell.

“...left-wing ally of the Democrats. “
More like a left wing money laundering arm of the DNC, just like Progressive insurance appears to be.

I think your assessment is about right; the Rs should begin to pull away in the next three weeks in Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida and prob. Nevada. They are still a small bit behind in PA and also in AZ, but I think the common sense, undecided vote will not go for Fetterman and Lake will win by a wide enough margin to drag Masters across the line. The open question is if Herschel Walker can get through the GA debate in a few weeks; if so, he should be able to ice that seat 5and the Rs end up at 52 or 53 in the Senate.

This is straight up sabotage by the national Republican establishment.

That said, polling has historically favored Democrat pols by +/- 7 points in senate races, so it’s basically a dead heat. Sadly within the margin of cheating in Maricopa County though.

Gonna need lots and lots of people documenting the Rat shenanigans.

Yup.

Poll I saw had Blake within 1-2%. Also read Thiel got on Mitch for not supporting Blake. Also read Mitch doing a fundraiser for Blake. Kari, Finchem and Hamadeh are head in their races which is weird Blake behind in his. As always, the vote fraud factor has not been fixed as Katie Hobbs is still sec of state. The brave Katie who is afraid to debate Kari.

If Masters, etc. actually was able to raise money it would not matter whether these Super PACs air ads there or not. Masters does not have base support either or he would be able to raise money. This seems to be true across the board for many candidates left completely helpless unless McConnell comes to the rescue. That should not be the case. As posted many times before, a mere $10 donation from 1 million people per candidate puts all of this to rest. There are far more than 1 million conservative to whom that would be chump change. There is apparently no organization on our side to put this into place...unlike the left, who can get tens of millions per candidate it seems overnight through small donations.

It sounds like you’re one who believes polls are honest even though there is no transparency or validation.

On the plus side though, Kari Lake is leading by a half a point in RCP’s polling average.
+++++
I love RCP but their averages mix Likely Voter and Registered Voter polls. Those polls typically differ by 5 to 7 points. They can’t both be right. The LV polls are always closer to what actually happens on election day.

So, ignore the averages and just look at the Likely Voter polls and the trends in those polls. That is as good as it gets for election polling. Pay no attention to Registered Voter polls. They are just propaganda.

Exactly!

Why doesn’t Trump give some of that PAC money to Masters?

Congressman Massie should be the next senator from Kentucky.
