New York City kids seeking therapy after unending exposure to vagrants and addicts

New York City school kids are losing their minds over the zonked-out drug addicts and raving vagrants they encounter every day – and are flocking to therapists to find ways to cope with the stress, The Post has learned.

In neighborhoods such as Hell’s Kitchen “a lot” of kids are now in therapy, according to mom Katie Hamill, 43, whose 7-year-old daughter is being treated for anxiety.

“My daughter has seen everything from fornication, masturbation, defecation, urination, you name it, she has seen it. … consistently and constantly. She is in this constant state of panic,” said Hamill, who works in real estate.

The little girl gets upset when she sees “the dying people” — the junkies who look dead whom she thinks no one is helping, the mom said. And she sees far too much vile behavior from adults, including one addict trying to rip out his hair after getting high at a West 42nd Street playground.

“My kid asks me to move,” Hamill said. “We have considered leaving the city. It’s hard.”

The city funneled thousands of homeless people to Hell’s Kitchen to living in the area’s hotels after the pandemic started. The move led to high-profile crimes including the brutal March 2021 beating of a Filipino-American woman walking to church allegedly at the hands of convicted killer Brandon Elliot, 38, who was living at a nearby hotel.

In late August, police charged Nickolas O’Keefe, 33, a shelter resident, with two unprovoked stabbing attacks including one targeting an ER nurse who was knifed in the back.

Exacerbating the qualify-of-life decline is state bail reform, which has caused the release of scores of dangerous accused criminals, as well as the decriminalization of drug paraphernalia which prompted the NYPD to stop detaining junkies shooting up in public.

Thanks. No wasn’t being sarcastic. I knew the area has a bad reputation from the past.

[Is there gentrification happening in Hell’s Kitchen?]

To paraphrase Mao: “Gentrification comes out of the barrel of a gun.”

The therapists will put the kids on psych drugs thus creating even more vagrants and raving lunatics.

Is this ridiculous “mother” going to wait until her little girl is raped and murdered by one of these fiends?

[It’s where the Edge observation deck is located.]

Is that anything like the observation deck over Jurassic Park?

She has no plans to move, so we know the answer to your question.

Yes, moving is always an option. If she wanted to do good for her child. But these moms often choose their desires over the needs of their child.

A while back, one of my daughters moved to Salina, Kansas. Cheap homes, quiet living. While visiting her, my wife and I went to the downtown main street. Store vendors chatted up a storm with us, very friendly. As we only saw a few people on the street, we asked one clerk as to when is the busy time for shoppers. She said this is it. No homeless vagrants, no dope addicts, just peaceful living. Daughter was there for a couple years working online from her home, and part-time as a librarian. Walked her dog daily around the neighborhood in peace. She moved to Texas after that.

People should get out of NYC, a lot better places to live for your peace of mind.

Here's a picture I made last month looking at Billionaire's Row.

It's on the 100'th and 101'st floors of 30 Hudson Yards. The outdoor portion is the highest outdoor observation deck in NYC. It is by far the best observation deck in NYC. There is just an angled glass wall that goes from the floor to about 15 feet above the deck. There is a window that is part of the floor of the overhanging deck that has a direct view of the street below.

It is enrichment, my friend. Instead of driving the scum into the harbor, mom will teach here child how to tolerate the scum. Instead of teaching her children how to spread civilization out of the barrel of a gun, mom will medicate her children into acceptance and create another generation of scum.

There are some lovely blocks just to the west of the theatre district, brownstones, tall shady trees, etc. Very prime property.

Hudson Yards is a quite different story, huge beautiful new office buildings in the thirties for which the contracts were signed before the pandemic and had which had to go up anyway. Some now sitting empty and losing lots of money for the owners.

Sometimes I think people in NYC think that the only way to live is wall to wall people. They don’t know how to live quietly. It’s kind of sad.

What that video shows in New York is nothing, NOTHING, compared to what inner city dwelling children see in California cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, just to name a few.

From an uptown apartment
To a knife on the A train
It’s not that far
From the sharks in the penthouse
To the rats in the basement
It’s not that far
To the bag lady frozen asleep in the park
Oh no, it’s not that far
Would you like to see some more?
I can show you if you’d like to
