And a “treaty” that requires the U.S. to make law contrary to the Constitution is null and void as well.

Hint - they already passed the law. It is the AIM Act of 2019 - which they slipped into the Dec 24, 2021 Budget Reconciliation act of 2021.

So we are all already screwed !

Actually, they are too insulated from reality to realize that they were elected to serve their constituents, not their donors.

I would like to believe that the treaty in question is unconstitutional. Maybe we won't know until SCOTUS rules. Do different sections in the Constitution contradict each other?

Article VI, Clause 3 of the United States Constitution: This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

No. The Constitution is not rocket science but you must have a modicum of education to deal with it. The Left has deliberately succeeded in making the American People fairly ignorant about the Constitution. But that can be fixed fairly easily.

For now I would simply say that the average Joe needs to know the Constitution's

1. Context (ie. a general idea of Anglo-American political thought and concepts leading up to the 1700’s).
2. Presumptions (ie. The Declaration of Independence (DOI)).
3. Structure (ie. three separate but equal branches of government).
4. Text (after 1. - 3. just read it).
5. Perversions (SCOTUS unconstitutional decisions mostly after 1900).

The Constitution belongs to WE THE PEOPLE and WE THE PEOPLE must learn it and apply it so that WE will know if laws and Court decisions conform to or violate the Constitution.

Remember, the Constitution is the ONLY source of any legitimate power of the feds. If the Constitution doesn't delegate an enumerated power to the feds, it is not a legitimate federal power. OTOH, as the DOI states, man's rights and powers are given to him by God, not man or his government.

Do different sections in the Constitution contradict each other

No, read carefully my last post & the difference between international treaties and national U.S. Law.

Yeah, nothing in Article I about CFCs or climate.

But we’ll just keep on voting and pretend it matters.

I agree that treaties concerning “climate emergencies” are likely to be overreactions or lies. But we should not necessarily deem a treaty “unconstitutional” because it contains terms not in use in the 18th century, like “nuclear accident.” It might be better to include terms that would be understood in both centuries in future proposed treaties like “...or threat to public safety.”

If this is not a foreign treaty, then I agree wholeheartedly with your assertion.

The treaty itself IS with a foreign country or countries which is OK I guess as far as that goes.

However, any treaty is invalid and unenforceable where is mandates unconstitutional US laws.

Actually any “treaty” where a foreign power may dictate US law is utterly unconstitutional and, thus, null and void.

Especially when the foreign powers can easily use it to thrust most of the burden on us without real consequences to themselves. However, too many GOP senators
are corrupt.

Thank you for posting.

"I agree that treaties concerning “climate emergencies” are likely to be overreactions or lies. But that's why they made the Constitution amendable.

“3. The Constitution was written to be understood by the voters; its words and phrases were used in their normal and ordinary as distinguished from technical meaning; where the intention is clear, there is no room for construction and no excuse for interpolation or addition [emphasis added].” —United States v. Sprague, 1931.

Thomas Jefferson had put it this way.

My own advice is beware of English to English "translations" of the Constitution.

Also, given the alleged desperate Democratic stealing of the 2022 elections, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Democrats “amend” the Constitution overnight.

In fact, just this year (2022), desperate Democrats "officially" recorded the failed, time-expired Equal Rights Amendment as having been ratified.

Amendments by Acclamation: Democrats Move to Simply Declare the Equal Rights Amendment as Ratified (3.11.22)

I’ve had a lot of trouble with Whirlpool brand appliances less than 10 years old, some less than five. Son’s Whirlpool dishwasher has had to be repaired twice (control board and heating element). I have a higher end KitchenAid French door refrigerator that has a fundamental design flaw that causes me to have to manually defrost it (blow drier) about once a month. And I just had a Jenn-Air double oven replaced over a control board failure. The replacement control board was unobtanium.

At this point, I wouldn’t buy a new Whirlpool brand anything.
