Why be surprised? A necessary aspect of the Left is that they are generous with other people’s money.

It doesn’t matter who supports it as much as it matters who is furious about it. Folks on the right won’t be motivated to vote Lib, even if they do take the handout. If folks who were already going to vote Dem are for it, it doesn’t motivate them further... they already got theirs. On the other hand, if folks on the left who were left out of the gibsmedat outlay decide the forgiveness means they don’t vote democrat this cycle, that’s something. If folks who weren’t going to vote are now motivated to vote because they didn’t get something that they’re now on the hook for paying for, that’s also something.

Of course...Dems will pay 10k a year in extra taxes, just so they can feel honored to receive a less valuable check back from government. In this mindset they feel entitled and valued.

I’m not aware of any restriction that prevents New Yorkers from voluntarily subsidizing the educations of their residents. They are furthermore welcome to sponsor anyone else that wants a free education. I just don’t believe they are entitled to steal the resources of anyone else to accomplish their objectives.

Maybe the end-result should be an extra $10k tax on everyone, then the state can ‘gift’ it back in $10k of value (for school, for housing, for gambling, etc). Then everyone would be happy over the $10k gift business....not realizing it was their own money to start with.

I sold my house and airplane when the oilfield went down the tubes in 1983. I went to school again to become a pharmacist. My last year of such I was broke and took out a student loan.

I graduated and paid off my student loans in advance. I had a degree that paid well. I chose this degree course for the fact it paid well. Chem, Math, Physics, Botany, Physiology, etc. is not easy.

Loan forgiveness is simply wrong. It is a tax on those that did not go to school that now enjoy higher wages due their education with the exception of liberal arts. Those degrees in liberal arts are mostly worthless.

There needs to be a reporting of each university that had students who received loan forgiveness. Show the schools, the count of degrees, the total amount of loans forgiven by degree, and the percentages of all degrees awarded.

Let this report be a warning to parents about which schools are producing unemployable graduates.

Their own special sauce little list of 400 proprietary online leftists ready, willing and able to sway any poll their way. It's like one article I saw yesterday touting a recent 'survey' about Democrat chances in the November election. Had to use the subtle 'survey' moniker because that's what YouGov does with its polls - ONLINE means nothing - I don't care how they say they 'vet' the responders.
