Too funny! You are so pathetic, and so unimaginative that you simply copy my words, and try to pass them off as your own. If you were a student of mine I'd fail you for plagiarism and lack of imagination.

“Turkey needs to get out of Cyprus.”

Yup.

“That “coup” was engineered by Erdogan as an excuse to clamp down on his opponents.”

There is a very strong argument for that possibility.

Turkey and Russia will fight over Constantinople. Probably in a generation.

I'd root for Russia.

I’d root for Constantinople.

And hope the world doesn’t burn.

But there are few situations where Russia will be allowed to seize Turkey.

Not if Putin’s actions greatly weaken Russia, as is my fear.

They have.

Russia started a fight with what they thought was the little guy at the bar. Someone they believed they could beat easily, take his girl (who was flirting with Russia anyway) and look all macho.

But little Uke is punching way above his weight. Maybe he has some extra training, or some skills taught by the guy at the other end of the bar. Maybe just meaner, but the fight is going on to long. Russia is getting tired, and the quick fight is not going his way.

At some point, Russia pulls the nuke card. They have to. Surrounded by rivals they are being shown to be weaker then they want to be.

Every big war starts with somebody thinking they will easily win.

Hitler invaded Poland thinking that after he smashed Poland, Britain and France would sue for peace.

In trying to be on the good side of both Russia and the EU, depending on the issue and the day of the week, Erdogan is positioning Turkey to being on the outs with everyone, including many in the Middle East.

You forgot China, and is that what Erdogan is doing?

It seems he is forcing the EU and Western Europe to expose their two-faced politics and alliances for the for the world to see.

How Erdogan and Turkey fare will be the result of the choices the rest of the nations of lesser influence make.

The Western Nations will try to propagandize their own double standards away, while accusing the nations of lesser influence of that fault.

We have to wait to see whose propaganda prevails.

Did they invite the CIA?

Probably, in the hopes they could "disappear" during the conference.

“You forgot China, and is that what Erdogan is doing?”

If that is what Erdogan thinks he’s doing, he’s risking the same problems African nations have gotten into getting into bed too much with China.

Denying the right of a people to exist pretty much guarantees that they will fight to the end. But Putin just can’t help himself there. His maximalist rhetoric may play well domestically but in the end he’s totally reliant on the west cutting off support to Ukraine. If they don’t then the corrupt and incompetent Russian military will certainly be destroyed in Ukraine.

True, China has used debt in some African Nations, similar to IMF coercion in Third World Nations, and some have benifited from China created economic (actually safety) zones where African women can work and keep their income, while they live in safety from African men, who don't work.

Also, Turkey is far less economically at risk than African nations, and much more in the middle of supply and trade routes.

I don't think Erdogan is risking as much as you do, but time will tell.

However, I'm not, so you'll have to take out your Nazi penchant on the ones who are.
