The White House announced the nomination of Lynne Tracy, the current U.S. ambassador to Armenia, to the post after the Russian government signed off on the choice.
Such approval is generally routine but couldn't be taken for granted at a time of particularly fraught U.S.-Russian relations over Ukraine, the detention of Americans in Russia, allegations of Russian meddling in U.S. and other elections, and an escalating spat over the staffing of embassies in Washington and Moscow.
Tracy, who speaks Russian, previously served as a senior adviser for Russian affairs in the State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, and as the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. She also held several posts in Central and South Asia.

Поскольку английский не является вашим родным языком, вы, возможно, не заметили, что западные угрозы применить ядерное оружие служат защитным сдерживающим фактором, и никто не угрожает применить его первым против России.

Probably a lesbo, right. Anything to stick it in the Russians eye.
Reminds me of when JFK was asked how he became a WWII hero. He explained: “They sank my boat”.
A diplomat gets attacked and receives a Hero award.
Everybody gets a trophy.
I’m surprised they didn’t nominate Griner.
Brandon and his handlers think so little of Ukraine they waited until April to appoint an ambassador. Two months after the big invasion! They totally ignored Ukraine while partnering with Putin to bust President Trump’s outstanding middle east policy. Democrats would have “reset” with Putin long ago if not for the threat of Trump 2.0.
Post of the day!
Or,
Hunter.
Yes, yes, yes. But what are her qualifications? Is she a protected minority? Is she a protected ethnicity? Is she a protected gender? Is she of a protected religion?
I've had about enough of these headlines that infer "Biden" is doing anything. It's the people hiding in the shadows that we're not allowed to see who are running this country. Into the ground.
The penchant that we have for naming women as ambassadors to key countries does a tremendous disservice to this country and the cause of peace. Women just don’t project the image of strength - and whether that perception is correct or not is irrelevant, because that perception is ingrained throughout the world. April Glasby as US ambassador to Iraq in 1990 actually encouraged Sadaam to invade Kuwait, because he perceived her mere presence in that position as a lack of strength and seriousness on our part. The medium is the message, as the saying goes.
OTOH, if Biden nominated an American Bismarck as ambassador to Russia, I am not sure that it would help, as he and his puppet-masters are not only perceived as weak and ineffectual, they ARE weak and ineffectual.
The heroism award was for her conduct when shot at in Pakistan. Really in danger, unlike Hillary in Bosnia.
Article doesn't really tell us enough to judge her. OK, so she speaks Russian. But what are her pronouns?
