This video from the South China Morning Post is almost a year old, but I only now just caught up to it. It shows a row of electric buses in China combusting rather dramatically:
[Youtube video]
Imagine if you were a passenger on the first bus as it was going down the street, or even stopped at a pickup point, when it combusted. You likely wouldn’t make it out.
The point: if not for the hysteria over climate change, and the romanticizing of electric-everything, our various transportation- and safety-czars in the government would never allow these vehicles to be brought into use.
One of the first things I teach students on the first day of energy policy classes I have taught is how energy density works, and how a battery is a device to store energy at high densities. But at a certain point, when you increase the energy density enough, we don’t call it a battery any more. We call it a bomb. No wonder the airlines now ask everyone not to check anything with lithium-ion batteries in checked luggage.

No such video at link.

Thanks for the link! Horrifying.
the EVs are perfect shills in 3-2-1...
I think those buses are the ones from Martha’s Vineyard all ready to go to the military bases.
they are ignoring the dangers
just like the wind turbines and the birds
not a problem cuz globull warming
The price of coal is soaring in Europe. Very popular.
Where is Greta when we need her?
There was an electric bus fire in a fenced outdoor parking area in London a month or two ago.
Two buses were blazing, and two more were smoking, because they were parked very close together.
I live in a building with three levels of underground parking.
I think about raging electrical fires like that sometimes when I am falling asleep.
Just like mRNA “vaccines”...
She must have found a wife or something.
LiFePO4 batteries can’t self-ignite, and they are much longer-lived than Li-Ion.
But their energy density is much lower.
not to mention power outages like in Puerto Rico this week, or in many countries around the world on a regular basis; some lasting 10 hours or more per day; or even outages that last weeks following hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.
not exactly ready for the Electric Future, are we?
“Here ya go bub. That’ll be 50 cents.’’
LOL!
ROFL. This forum should be all over this.
How long ago were US officials making threats about coal?
Now suddenly pollution is ok. 😂😂😂
What happened to climate change???
Who made them buses?
What brand?
At that recent spontaneous combustion event in N London at least seven buses were destroyed, probably more, and that was quite dramatic too. Worth watching IMHO (video link):

Why isn’t anyone discussing the fact that there is really no Electric vehicles, only coal powered or Natural gas powered vehicles. There is less than 5% solar and wind powered combined.
Thanks for the video.
When the giant storage batteries that Tesla makes for Green utilities catch fire, water is useless. They have to let the fire burn out by itself.
