Rapper Kanye West revealed that he ended his contract with the Gap clothing store in order to manufacture his clothing line in the U.S.
Appearing on CNBC, West said, “It was always a dream of mine to be at the Gap and to bring the best product possible to the masses, and I always talked to them about doing products for $20 like the best product in the world, designed at the same level as the top fashion houses in the world, at $20 for the people.”
“Obviously there’s always struggles and back-and-forth when you’re trying to build something new and integrate teams,” he added.

Well at least he is helping a few workers, etc in the USA.
Like brandon every now and the this guy has a moment of clarity.......every now and then.
This is certain to put him on and FBI watch list.
Kanye may have trouble finding people who want to work anymore.
Good for him. Now what we need is an import tariff to help all US manufacting. No subsidies and no tax breaks just a tariff.
Like Donald Trump of the 1990's, Kayne has evolved politically. Possibly as Reagan once famously said he didn't leave the democrat party, the democrat party left him.
NO HE WON’T. He will have to pay the going rate for labor and not set wages like most misguided American management.
George does have a special fondness for Moochelle muh belle.
Yep. That Kanye. He was wrong. Bush hates all of us.
While I appreciate his desire to manufacture in the US, I’m not sure I’d start with the Garment industry.
It’s hard to even get material in the US these days at prices that sewing your own worth while.
It makes more sense to have garment industries closer to the supply of raw materials and in locations with cheap labor.
You mean Big Mike?
Is the way to do that to use illegal workers and pay them $4.00/hour?
He seems to have grown up a bit.
He’s a smart, if weird, guy. I hold out hope.
Guy certainly marches to the beat of his own drum.
Yah, and when his labor costs sextuple, it’ll be sexy.
Yes, the one and only Big Mike.
Too funny. Textiles is a labor intensive industry. Americans will not do that work. They moved out a long time ago.
