Why are union members always surprised to find out that their union bosses are bosses too?
Did anyone think those humans who join unions actually had any intelligence?
OSHA and the FRA have been slugging it out for decades about who has jurisdiction over railroads.
Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway owns Burlington Northern, one of the largest railroads in the US. Buffet is a Democrat party supporter as are the unions. Buffet benefited from Biden’s decision to shut down the Keystone pipeline as his railroad carries the freight in the region served by the pipeline.
How does Buffet benefit from the delay of a strike and whatever contract is worked out? Given his financial investment in railroads, and the Democrat party, the administration has to balance the demands of the unions against Buffet’s interests. The Democrats can’t politically afford a rail strike now. Union leadership and railroad management seem to have agreed to the fiction of a contract to buy the democrats time.
Bernie Sanders has been publicly demanding Buffet give more to the workers. Buffet has been silent and the press doesn’t seem to be pressuring him. Buffet almost always wins. What is Buffet’s price for this deal and has the administration agreed to pay it? Buffet has many business interests so the payoff may be something benefiting another Buffet company in another industry.
Now that major corporations have switched their loyalty from the GOP to the Democrats, the Democrats (other than Bernie) have to balance competing interests. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out after the election, particularly if the union rank and file goes along with the deal brokered by the government.
yyaaaaazzz... keep paying those dues and voting democrat!!
When leadership says it’s not a delaying tactic, it’s a delaying tactic. November elections.
Hmmm, Union Thugs and DemonRat Commies lied....
Who’d a thunk it?
Why it would take BLET “three to four weeks” to post a slightly reworded version of the Biden-backed Presidential Emergency Board (PEB) recommendations, which have already been roundly rejected by workers for failing to deal with inhuman attendance systems and increasing health care costs, was not explained.
Your post answered their question!
Heard we’ll have $2 gas by Election Day. Don’t know how they’ll work that out, but it’s all about Nov.
Final tentative agreement.” What happened to my beloved English language?

It’s still looking for its originaln defintion of gender.
DING! DING! DING! We have a winner!
The union leadership allowed our enemedia to report a “cease fire” of sorts, to allow the unions to stretch this whole thing out beyond the midterms.
They do not want a union strike that causes MORE INFLATION just before the midterms (that would directly hurt Democrats (and indirectly unions)), AND this also allowed them to claim Biden helped broker a “tentative” deal.
It’s all for a show! After the midterms, I almost guarantee a strike!!
They’ll drag it out right up to the election all the while proclaiming Biden saved the day.
"And the train conductor says, take a break, Driver 8."
Democratic politicians and the media announced that tentative agreements and and there’s no inflation everything is just fine........................................................
