Counting has changed. You have to look back about 3 weeks to get Covid death data in the US. The Covid dead stats trickle in.
August 17 there were 703 Covid dead in the US. Highest number since March. The weekly average is about 450 daily deaths.
This is 200 more daily Covid deaths than the low point of last year. This 400 number is going on and on for weeks/months. It is generating Excess Deaths that don’t add up to the big 2500/day Covid death peaks of last winter, but because it is going on for months at this level, the ED curve is clearly above pre Covid levels of 2019. We can expect another drop in Life Expectancy at these levels, and if we get a winter peak . . . .
Japan, Russia and S Korea are completing a recent peak in death count. Japans peak was worse than at any time of the entire 2 years.
The DNC commissioned a survey to ask, back in January, what they must do to minimize the mid term disaster they foresaw at that time. The survey folks told them . . . one thing above all. Get the virus off the front page. Stop being associated with it. It doesn’t matter if what you do kills people because every Republican you keep out of office helps more than are killed. So simply that, get the virus off the front page.
It’s still out there. It still kills people. It stopped being loud because the MSM were given directions.

Flew through LAX over the weekend. They are running announcements the entire time about masking while in the airport or on public transportation. I don’t know about the the public transport masking rate, but I would estimate only 15 - 20% complied with the airport. Nobody was enforcing it.
The border around the U.S. as referred to in the guvmint links of my Post 18..... The fact that the guvmint has set up a two-tier system for people crossing it is a separate issue.
People are still getting fired because of Biden’s ridiculous vaccine mandates which were totally useless. Who do they suit to regain the damages he has done?

Polls indicated that Trump supporters were vax resistant. Vaccine mandates were imposed to persecute Trump supporters.
And at least that amount will continue to die everyday - this thing is endemic and is never going away.
