It’ll be great business for the store owners selling pot.

President Gerald Ford had a scheme of giving unemployed people a $10,000 a year job but the taxpayers paid $50,000 each due to bureaucracy and government handling costs.
Mafia and local Harlem hoodlums handing out cash in envelopes was more efficient.

I’ve lived in Denver for over 40 years. Used to be proud to say that I lived in Colorado. Not any more…now it’s humiliating.

That $$ goes straight to the liquor stores and dope dealers. The vast majority of homeless folks aren’t homeless because they just need a little $$. It’s mental illness and chronic addiction, and usually both co-occurring, that lands them in the streets.
We use to institutionalize these people and it was a mistake to unleash them on society.

Denver is the place to go, if I ever decide to go homeless. 🙂
Let's all watch as the homeless population begins to explode. SMDH

No mention of men there. So if you’re a homeless male vet, I just you’re just out of luck.

I’d guess there isn’t much for rent in Denver for $1000 a month, so they’re still homeless.

Wish there was an odds maker who would let us bid on the 140 and what they’ll end up doing with it and/or how they end up?

Denver set to give
140 homeless people local liquor stores marijuana dispensaries, and drug dealers up to
$12,000 $1.7 million in cash
taken from taxpayers...
Check the Denver politicians' families ownership of the beneficiaries of this illegal payout.

The $2 million contract with the Denver Basic Income Project was approved by the City Council and will provide direct cash assistance to more than 140 women, transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, and families in shelters.I'd like to see a follow up story a year from now about the individuals who receive this money. I wonder how many will be moving in a positive direction in their life versus how many will be worse off than they are now.
(By the way, what the hell is a "gender non-conforming person"?)

Denver is not really a city; Denver is a socialistic sewer run by kakistocratic floaters.

I am starting to pack now but I won’t need much to be considered homeless. Can I get payment in advance so I can hop a flight back to my state of origin where I live comfortably now?

They better get ready to serve a LOT MORE people.

Three of my renters were given free rent and electric by Uncle Sugar. Two of the three, who had received over nine thousand dollars each, got seriously into drugs and I had to evict them. They were doing fine before and never lost their income so they should have been nine thousand ahead. Turns out the third woman bought new cars for her kids. Three of them. I’m waiting for that shoe to drop as she is now making rent only after her paycheck is deposited.
