NBPA executive director wants the NBA to ban Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver for life

NBPA executive director Tamika Tremaglio, saying she was speaking on behalf of NBA players, on Friday called for a lifetime ban of Phoenix Suns majority owner Robert Sarver, who was given a one-year suspension by the league for racist and misogynist remarks.

"We are absolutely calling for that [lifetime ban]," Tremaglio said in an interview on ESPN's NBA Today. "We do not want him to be in a position where he is managing or engaging with individuals who are engaging with our players or the players themselves. We are absolutely clear from the findings that are in the report that we do not want him to be in that position."

Added Tremaglio: "Quite frankly, I know that we never want our players to be in a position where they are unsafe or individuals that they are around are unsafe. Mr. Sarver had the ability to set the tone at the top. And for us to have individuals that are in a leadership role impacting the game in that way is detrimental to the success of our players and the safety of our players and that will not be tolerated."

What most of these reports soft sell, if not outright ignore, is the findings against him included inappropriate physical contact with the players.

MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS - all of it just needs to go up in smoke.

Build it back “better” with Good God Fearing Men willing to shun and shout down evil.

If he’s banned, who pays the players’ salaries?

There was a terrible gaff by Phx Suns management the other day. Looking forward to contract negotiations, somebody proposed that local strippers be hired to get knocked up by players, so that by having a child in town would make them much less likely to want to leave.

Thus giving the team an advantage in contract negotiations.

So he says the dreaded “N-word” in reference to what one of his players said on the court during another embarrassing loss, gets sued for $10 million and now the race baiting sharks at ESPN want him to lose his investment in the franchise.
Professional sports are dead, and have been to me for a decade. I take my money elsewhere. These idiot primadonnas and their shills in the sports media can do without my dollars.
The only sport I spend money to attend or watch nowadays is the NHRA.

He's probably a moron. 90% of the players are black. Most of the fanbase is now minority (black, hispanic and asian).

So the NBA will probably "encourage" him to sell the team. Plenty of rich guys who want to buy an expensive toy.

Much ado about nothing when we have bigger things going on in the world.

“The NBA announced the punishment Tuesday, saying the investigation found that during his time with the Suns and Mercury, Sarver used the N-word at least five times “when recounting the statements of others.”

From https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34584665/phoenix-suns-owner-robert-sarver-suspended-year-fined-10-million-investigation-finds-conduct-clearly-violated-workplace-standards

Just do a little digging and you’ll be surprised what you find.

Unsafe?! Is he running around the locker room waving a gun? No. Players do that. This whole display of indignation is ridiculous.

That’s what I thought was over the top in all this. “Safety” is the ultimate crutch everywhere with everything. Here it’s farcical.

Supposedly he dropped the N-word in repeating what some of his players said. There are also more vague accusations of sexual harassment although the specifics seem to be lacking.

But the NBA is truly worldwide now. Huge followings in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East too. Especially in China where they see big big bucks. You’ll never hear James say a word against the CCP, but some owner allegedly says the N-word?! The horror!
