Several European countries are turning to high-tech floating vessels in a bid to reduce their reliance on Russian energy.
Moscow has fueled an energy crisis in Europe by cutting off key pipeline gas supplies, but the specialist ships will enable countries like Germany to import seaborne natural gas for the first time.
At least 25 floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) are headed to Europe, according to S&P Global.

One in Netherlands started operations last Friday.
EU moving on from RuZZian energy. Energy markets being remade.
“Check out these photos of the massive floating gas terminals”
Love how these things just MATERIALIZE out of nowhere!!!
So what countries will now NOT be getting the gas they need this winter, due to no longer having access to these terminals?
Political problems don’t require technical solutions.
For the moment, yes. But I have no doubt that the European greenies will try to block operation of these FSRUs and if they fail, will try to force their governments to shut them down and get back on the Russian gas teat. Because some people never learn.

The terminals have multi year leases.
They won’t go away in the short term.
For importing LNG from the US? Raising prices here to subsidize the European caused and desired war with Russia that they easily got neocons and Commie-Rats involved in. The war where we have Russia threatening the US with nuclear weapons?

“subsidize the European”
Europe is not being subsidized. They are paying top dollar!
Bonanza for LA/TX.
The long term contracts means more US supply will come online. More US jobs and better balance of trade.
Remember, the solution to high prices is high prices.
Looks like Ted Kennedy
Now, we in the United States are paying for Europe’s folly of thinking they could become a ‘green energy’ continent. Europe shut down its coal fired electrical plants and decommissioned its nuclear plants.
When Russia cut off Europe’s natural gas supply, Europe comes begging for Liquified Natural Gas from the United States.
As a result of that new demand for LNG, natural gas prices in the USA have risen from $4 at the beginning of 2022 to the $9 range as of today.
Well, Americans when natural gas more than doubles in price in the USA, then so will your electrical price increase.
We should let the European ‘greenies’ wallow in the chaos they created for themselves and keep the natural gas for ourselves.
That was my thought as well - where on earth did all these just suddenly come from?
yes, a real floating gas bag....................
And now Europe’s natural gas problem will become ours.
Forced to share, our gas prices will soar as will the cost of electricity.
Game, set and match for the global power mongers.
Solution to Europe’s energy is to dump Biden and reinstitute American Energy. Put Trump back in office and problems solved.
“Hey Putin! We just sanctioned all your buddies!”
(Putin) Nice target ya got there...
New production in nearly all cases. Also, welcome to the free market! High demand, revealed by high prices, leads to extraordinary efforts to fill demand. Its beautiful.
Did I tell you that if you are a gas guy these days you can name your price? But, I think, by this time next year they will be cancelling contracts all over. If you are up to it, make hay while the sun shines. Sadly I am not up to it, myself. Old and ill and I have plenty of money already.
This situation is a blip, at least as far as gas prices and infrastructure demand goes. There is a logistics and infrastructure problem for a while, but it will go away.
Btw - there is lots and lots of gas in the world. The real problem is getting it to market. And the real problem there is governments. If governments step out of the way, anything is possible.
Ditto here. Just trying to imagine the cost and time to get one of these things up and running.
They won’t go away in the short term.
"Aaargh!" (Greenies tearing their garments in anger and despair...)
