If Trumpworld and conservative world and Republican world legitimately were deserving of carpet bombed subpoenas regarding January 6, it would have been done a year ago, not now in the runup to the 2022 midterms. It’s reminiscent of the 2013-2014 prosecutorial attempt to freeze the Wisconsin conservative movement.
In recent days, the U.S. Department of Justice has served upwards of 40 subpoenas on people affiliated with Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign, many of whom continue to associate with or support him.

The NY Times and other mainstream media have confirmed (with glee) the large number of subpoenas, including phone seizures:
Justice Department officials have seized the phones of two top advisers to former President Donald J. Trump and blanketed his aides with about 40 subpoenas in a substantial escalation of the investigation into his efforts to subvert the 2020 election, people familiar with the inquiry said on Monday.
The seizure of the phones, coupled with a widening effort to obtain information from those around Mr. Trump after the 2020 election, represent some of the most aggressive steps the department has taken thus far in its criminal investigation into the actions that led to the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob.
The subpoenas themselves are extraordinarily broad, seeking communications with dozens of people. So one subpoena to one person actually implicates dozens of people. Redstate published one of the subpoenas, along with the threatening cover letter:

Assume, for the sake of argument only, that such subpoenas were proper and necessary to investigate alleged crimes associated with the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill riot. That’s a big assumption, but it proves the point, which is why now, some 18 months later?
If these subpoenas were so necessary to the investigation, why did DOJ/FBI wait a year and half until we are in the thick of the runup to the midterms?
These subpoenas are a big freeze not only on Trumpworld, but conservative and Republican worlds. When people know that dozens are being subpoenaed by the feds regarding hundreds of people or entities, people stop talking to each other and engaging in perfectly lawful political activity out of fear that they will be next. Lawful political communication with the wrong person could find you on the receiving end of a DOJ subpoena and FBI home visit, or as just happend to Mike Lindell and others, being confronted on the street or in public by FBI agents.
It’s a way to shut down a political movement without having to arrest, indict, or prosecute anyone.
Seems like this analysis is probably correct. I hope everyone doubles down to make sure that there is negative splash back on the Deep State democRATs. I know Steve Bannon and Mike Lindell don’t seem to be backing down.
Just wipe everything, you know, like with a cloth. Then claim the Hillary Defense.

Garland and his Band of Merry Men are working on stealing this election. They got pretty much spooked until the DNC’s far left “media” was able to pull the commie RATS’ chestnut out of the fire.
The Democrats, through the DOJ/FBI, may be working on the biggest election steal in US history. Democracy is truly hanging by a thread.
After the events surrounding the Jan 6th and the FBI raids and intimidations by the leftists. I’m hesitant to attend or speak out against the zeitgeist. We have no legal protections and are being demonized by the feds. If you attend a rally that they don’t like they’re going to face recognize, identify you, and then send lawless unaccountable government goons after you.

I mean this will just make the MAGA base even more determined to get out and vote.
The FIB/DOJ is hoping it will get them out on the streets in protest so they can send in their embedded spies to foment gun violence for the MSM to show 24/7 in the lead up to the Mid-Terms.
Of course a DC grand jury would be expected to green light any subpoena on any person tangentially related to Trump. The jury pool there is trash. A new Republican Congress needs to quickly divest the DC district of its authority over political inquiry and relegate it to a less reflexively extremist district.

The 17 people listed on the subpoena have probably also been served with the same subpoena. If any one of them accidently leaves out a communication that is provided by one of the others, there would be a potential obstruction charge. They are setting these people up for process crimes.
What is to keep every person that is ‘summoned’ to claim their 5th Amendment rights, since it is apparent that this government intends on jailing anyone who attended the January 6th Trump Rally for any cause they so deem? Can you claim the 5th Amendment protection due to the fear of Government harassment? That is a serious question in these confusing times. Of course, it appears that they have jailed many without charges since that day, which seems to violate the Constitutional guarantee of a speedy trial. “The 6th Amendment guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you.” It seems to me that the DOJ has not been forthright in explaining the charges against most of the ‘detainees’ in Washington, and Washington DC might be an impossible place to have an impartial jury, so I would be afraid that anything I said would be used to convict me, whether it was true, whether it was irrelevant or not, etc. So the question is, would any of these folks be in jeopardy by arguing that anything they say would incriminate them?
I don’t think it is just a midterm election thing only. I think they are coming out and telling us they are going to be indicting and prosecuting all of those involved with attempting to seat alternate electors. Especially the attorneys that gave the advise. They will bring some kind of RICO claim against all of them. If they were just trying to impact the midterms there would be no reason to go after the attorneys. Biden gave his Hitler speech from hell and the point was to say that they were going after Maga Republicans. Liz Cheney has been pushing for this from her DC home. Merrick Garland is a true believer. He authorized the raid and all the seizure of phones of attorneys etc... I think their theory is anyone involved in trying to set alternative electors was engaged in some kind of sedition. I think they want this fight to keep everyone’s eyes off how they are messing up the country and to let them continue remaking it in their craven image. The media wants it more than anyone for ratings. I don’t see any reason why they won’t be moving forward with indictments before a DC grand jury and then before a DC jury. I would assume the worst case this is what they intend because that is what Biden said. What is plan to fight it I don’t know. McConnell and Linda are AWOL.
All this because the Democrats set up the capital to allow trespassers in and the fact that they manipulated the 2020 elections.
Talk about allowing the criminals to have free rein.
They are gunning for the Electorial College.
They mean to transform the Republic into a pure mobocracy.
DeSantis will spend the next 8 years cleaning house in the Deep State.
Mitch McConnell saved them. He mandated that the GOP Senate candidates not criticize Biden and not promise a damn thing. Run on nothing. And his plan to throw the Senate is working beautifully.
And when all this does not work they will manufacture a crisis to postpone the midterms.
