I’ve rode Amtrak several times FL-DC. If everyone on the train moved to one car, there would have been room for more passengers in that single car.
I take the Amtrak Cascades from Salem, OR to Seattle, return on the Coast Starlight. Much more pleasant at my age than driving I-5. The train is nearly always quite full. In fact, Business class was sold out last time I rode (early June).
