In Tuesday's White House press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre failed to provide much reassurance for American citizens or businesses eyeing the looming threat of a rail worker strike that is shaping up to be something of a repeat of the Biden administration's previous mismanagement of U.S. port backlogs and infant formula shortages.
As Vespa explained on Tuesday morning, potential rail disruption is "another looming economic crisis that could strike hard this week," one that "could cost the US economy billions and disrupt virtually all commercial and passenger traffic."
So what does the White House have to say about the situation? Well, according to Biden's press secretary, they're working on it, and have been for months, and the most they have to show is a contingency plan that Jean-Pierre mentioned without any concrete details.

If there is a strike, it'll be a dress rehearsal for Armageddon. There is SO much stuff that goes on rail that is mission-critical for our economy. Crude oil shipments to refineries (that SHOULD be in pipelines) will stop. Guess what? Those trucks they think they'll use run on diesel. No diesel, no trucks.
I've raised 6-year-olds with more savvy than this lot.
Yep.
Don’t worry folks! Gay Pete will get right on it!!!
Privately?
"Can we blame Trump?"
"How can we fault the Republicans?"
"How can we manipulate this 'crisis' to make the administration appear to save the day?"
Not normally a union guy, but a rail strike would cripple the economy and make the Dems look bad.
So, bring it on!
Why would union workers go on strike now when it would impact the election which they want Democrats to win?
They’re going to closely monitor the situation.
Sounds right. What they are not doing is finding a way to avert the crises. Why would they? every crises is an opportunity. The more the misery the more potential to exploit it.
And another reason to print more $$ to buy more votes.
Union workers have one chance to negotiate a contract—they don’t get to pick the timing—and they know that with current inflation they are about to get boned.
Heard something on this yesterday and the numbers (unacceptable to the union) were astounding. Something like 24% pay and benefits. Correct me if wrong.
Captain Pete Butt Gig to the rescue!
Union bosses give Biden a or else deal
No deal nobody gets backing in November.
They know of a guy that pains houses.
I read that Buffet gets $30 per barrel for hauling Canadian oil by train to USA since there is no pipeline.
Follow the $$$$$$$$
They could care less they are out to keep power and if they cant they will burn it to the ground. We need to punish these pukes when we regain control if we do
Hope you all got months supply food/ammo.
Just saying.
I don't remember any.
But then again, I am sometimes forgetful.
I’m sure Buttigieg has a back up plan.
LOL++!
