Ukraine prior to Russian SMO: 2,586 tanks

According to the ‘neutral 3rd party’ ORYX: Only 258 have been destroyed by the Russians.

Why they need more tanks?
Just asking for a friend.

I want to compare you answers to these questions one year from now.
I’ll still be here, will you?

I’m not sure why the Russ-fanbois duck simple questions. Crisis of confidence in their world view being shaken?

Answer these if you’re not just a coward/troll account:

Do you expect the Russians will retreat from Kherson next?
Will the excuses they used to retreat from Kiev, Sumy, Chernigov, Nikolaev, Snake Island, and Kharkov oblast still carry water with you, or is there a tipping point at which you begin to re-assess the war-fighting capability of the Russian army?
In short, how bad do they have to fail for you to reconsider the outcome?

Ukrainian insiders themselves confirmed that the Kiev withdrawal was apart of Istanbul deal, except Ukraine refused to fulfill its part after British involvement.
Kharkov was a screw up by the Russians due to spreading too thin, but they turned it into a pyrric victory for Ukrainians, retreating with minimal losses whereas Ukrainians suffered huge casualties.

One Ukrainian problem is they are running low on 125mm tank ammo, especially HE, heavily used for infantry support. Both sides rarely use tanks to fight other tanks.

And that too is in limited supply from western sources. So, like the 155mm - 152mm problem, the solution is to replace the systems. They need tanks that can use western 120mm.

There seems to be buzz about redirecting some of the 500 older Abrams the US is giving Poland to Ukraine. Also, this might revive the idea of sending them the 200 Spanish Leopard 2A4’s.

I’ve only been here since 1998. Guess that makes me a troll.

The Biden fan boys never answer the question of why they believe the Ministry of Truth.

Brandon is asleep at the wheel. President Trump would have coordinated the ramped up production of key items like ammo long ago.

Ammunition supply. Soviet 125mm HE is running low. Its the same problem as the 152mm - 155mm case.

You cant just replace the guns on the tanks as its unfeasible to rework the autoloaders on all of them.

Biden is still busy partnering with Putin to bust Trump’s middle east policy. Might want to be careful tossing that epithet around.

Ukrainian insiders themselves confirmed that the Kiev withdrawal was apart of Istanbul deal,

It’s amazing the mental gymnastics people will go through to convince themselves the Russian offensive didn’t stall because of their incompetence and Ukrainian resistance.

What is the source for this propaganda you have embraced?

How do you decide which ‘Ukrainian insiders’ to believe? The ones that allegedly tell you what allows your worldview of Russia as a competent military power to remain?

Then don’t hide from simple questions:

I want to see your answers so we can compare them on 9/12/23 to the reality on the ground. Don’t be shy.

The “huge” casualties are not apparent. That is definite propaganda. There were no clashes in the timeline of the advance that implied heavy fighting where such clashes could have been inflicted. “Huge” casualties would have stopped the Uke spearheads, but they didn’t stop.

Maybe “huge” is more appropriate definition for the Kherson part of the offensive, but they were definitely an order of magnitude more compared to the allied losses in Kharkov as well.
Apart from the hearts and minds angle, withdrawal was strategically a good thing.

NATO exists to protect against Russia, now a country on the borders of NATO is suffering that Russian invasion.

The victim nation of that Russian invasion is doing an extraordinary job at great loss of life and infrastructure to defang that Russian threat for at least a generation.

Germany should send those tanks to Ukraine if they are a worthy ally to America and our NATO alliance.

What is a competent military power by your book? War is not an orderly business by default.

You’re right; Shermans were commonly rebuilt/cannibalized in the field. That combined with excellent logistical support made it a formidable weapon.

Everyone likes to compare it with the newer Kraut tanks, but WWII tank models leapfrogged each other’s technology throughout the war. When the Sherman was introduced, it outclassed the Kraut tanks — for a while. But the Sherman always maintained an enormous logistical and numeric advantage.

The reason I have never weighed in on this proxy war is because I know that everyone is lying.

I don't think it, I KNOW it.

Only time will tell what the truth is, and even then we will be fed lies.
