didn’t Joe and the administration change how they interpret inflation changes? So rather than talking about the annual inflation change, they now talk about the change from month to month, so as to minimize the political damage????
Sure. And when people go to buy a hot dog and it costs $6 instead of $2.50 they will say "thank goodness Biden kept inflation so low, it might have been $10 by now if he hadn't fixed it!" I guess that's their theory.
But then the next month the hot dog costs $8.
They just don’t talk about the annualized inflation rate. Both month to month and annualized figures should be discussed. Additionally, compounded inflation rates should be discussed. No one wants to talk about multiple year compounded inflation rates. The annualized rate just looks at inflation over the prior 12 months. Inflation started under Biden early in his residency. Thus, this year’s inflation is on top of last year’s inflation.
Inflation Production Act.
This WILL succeed in producing higher inflation.
