my experience tells me that single, child-free women are terribly unhappy people. They may have money in their bank accounts, but they are miserable

Yeah, yeah...cats...boxed wine...yada yada.

I never had children because my husband had severe health issues. Now he's gone. Yeah, I got a cat. Yeah, I like boxed wine from Costco. Yeah, I got piles of money.

...and while I miss my husband, I do LOVE my freedom. Wouldn't trade it again for anything.

Oh...and I am VERY Happy! And the more I look at today's culture, figure I probably dodged a bullet as I watch my friends and their gender-confused, video game addicted, inked-up moron children and grandchildren. Yikes! Happy to be on my own.

I’m with you, Sister! I never had kids of my own, though I did raise three boys; my StepSon and two Nephews. Enjoyed it tremendously, as I enjoy the Grandbabies my BFF’s kids and nieces are bringing into this world.

I LOVE to babysit - then hand them back at the end of the day!

Beau has no kids either, but has a Foster Son who is a big part of our life.

That said, I guess my point is this: No regrets. Financial security has always been a big deal to me. Sacrifices made to achieve it as I go into my Golden Years have been well worth it.
