More than 150 Michigan Republicans launched a new campaign effort to boost the reelection prospects of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) against GOP opponent Tudor Dixon, who is backed by former President Trump.
Republicans for Whitmer is led by a leadership council of 35 Republicans from Michigan, including business leaders, former lawmakers and staff who served under former state GOP governors John Engler and Rick Snyder.
Bill Parfet, the chairman and CEO of commercial real estate company Northwood Group, said he was supporting Whitmer because she was seeking to build a common bridge between Democrats and Republicans.

The Rinos tried cutting Macomb county republican delegates out of their state convention because the county is turning too red (https://rumble.com/v1i2zyl-episode-56-macomb-county-mi.html).
America First precinct delegates fought back at the GOP convention and got the Macomb county delegates seated per the court order being ignored by the GOP leadership that was booed when they started the convention.

Jim Haveman, the director of the former Department of Community Health under Republican governors Rick Snyder and John Engler, said he hadn’t seen enough substance from Dixon’s platform.
“Having been in both with Governor Engler and Governor Snyder, I know what government can do to make this state better. And I just haven’t seen a platform from the candidate to make a difference,” Haveman said of Dixon.
Other participants of Republicans for Whitmer’s 35-member leadership council include major Republican donor Bill Parfet; former State Reps. Doug Hart, Mike Pumford and Mickey Knight; from State Sens. Tony Rocca and Mel Larsen; former U.S. Rep. and state legislator Joe Schwarz; election attorney Joe Pirich and former Michigan Chamber of Commerce lobbyist Bob LaBrandt.
“I know what government can do to make this state better. And I just haven’t seen a platform from the candidate to make a difference,” Haveman said of Dixon.”
