Plus at the end of the month, he will be released from jail.I am sure he will, and the victim’s family will be charged for all court costs. 👎 He shouldn’t have used his body, to stop those knife thrusts. 🤪🧐🤮 /S

Not quite... It was only an old white male reporter.
Not quite, not quite...
It was only an old white male reporter exposing a democrat politician.

Why isn’t he running for president yet?
Sounds like a solid Democrat to me.

That is the law, and for good reason. Imagine the havoc that the dems could do by charging republicans with frivolous crimes with the sole purpose of removing them from office without a trial. We are already seeing the beginnings of that now.

Innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Ummm - "An elected official who allegedly murdered an investigative reporter in Las Vegas will remain in office for months and still get paid while he sits in prison."

If there isn’t a method of impeachment/removal of an elected official in the LV city charter, and he doesn’t resign his office, then he will still hold office and receive pay. He obviously doesn’t care about his official duties, since he can’t execute them from jail which tells one a lot about his character.
But right now, he’s got much bigger problems on his mind. As I’ve read it, the case against him is pretty solid—his DNA is at the murder scene so he’ll likely be spending the rest or a big part of his life ‘away’.

Back when Cheney accidentally shot that guy while they were hunting I proposed that two polls be run and the results compared. The first would ask people what they thought of the VP shooting an old man and the second what they thought of him shooting a lawyer.

Innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Right. This would be newsworthy if he'd be keeping his job after conviction.

Exactly my point, but no one else on this thread but you seemed to grasp it. It happens. ITOH, one could also argue that if the moron can't do his job while on trial, he shouldn't get paid for it. If it were me, I'd probably have to take a leave of absence from my job, and probably wouldn't be compensated for that time. Just because the perp is a scumbag politician (redundant, I know), doesn't mean he should be treated differently than a citizen would.

Well elected, not appointed, and not found guilty. Actually seems pretty legit.
