Yes, but civilized governments don't attack civilians or civilian infrastructure.

Terrorism is also a form of war, but most people aren't OK with capturing a school full of children and executing them, or rounding up civilians and murdering them wholesale.

The Russians and their Chechen partners don't seem to have any reluctance to engage in terrorist style attacks.

That was when we believed in "free speech" and the Constitution.

And that was before our enemies started in with the doxxing and trying to get people fired for their political views.

So, we lost the real names and went anonymous. As you can see, I held out longer than most - Class of 2002.

I was an archivist, and did Media criticisms.

I actually started posting in March of 1997. We went to registration in late November partially because of the antics of Eschoir, billypaul and ash.

There was the Big Blowout on the Eschoir thread "A Walk In The Gardens of Stone", just before we got M. Larry Lawrence dug up out of Arlington and shipped back to California.

I challenge them to support their positions, because I find it odd that FReepers who profess to be patriotic and loyal Americans would side with a country that has been hostile to the United States and its interests for 100 years. Detente was a feel-good parlor game for east coast elites, but it did nothing to create any sense of friendship or reliability in our dealings with Russia (and I use the word Russia because the Soviet Union was, in reality, Russia). In short, we were taken for a ride then, as we had been before, and have been since.

So, what “certain end” am I supposed to have had in mind?
