Some comments on Youtube:

Longtime Taiwan resident here. A bit of a nitpick about your wording describing polling data on the status quo issue: it's not that only 5% of Taiwanese "want to be independent," it's 5% want to DECLARE dejure independence despite the risks.

Had a pen pal I spoke with back in high-school that lived in Kowloon. After England gave back HongKong, she and her family fled to Taiwan because she said that the communists would never hold their word and would take over dispite agreeing to let HongKong govern itself. She was 100% right.

I watched Pelosi’s plane land from the roof of my apartments. The airport is like 5 mins away. The online reaction was 100x more than actual society here. Most saw it as the usual noise from the CCP. After a few days of the military activities things were back to normal, everyone over it. The media is embarrassing and war mongering.

China spends close to 2%(corrected) of its gdp on suppressing information. And for this video to cover the ins of what’s happening in China is amazing. Thanks for the awesome videos you put up

As a Taiwanese, i have to say: Great videos, great historical accuracy and you explained the statues quo and situation of whats happening in the CCP like a insider. 2 information you got a bit wrong. First, pro Taiwanese independent movement has been steady on the rise since the last president election , and secondly, the CCP has been using the same tactics to deal with any internal problems ever since its existence, target any external problem and refocus the public's attention, Pooh didnt make this tactic up.

Well - It's not as if everything is made in China...

Are LEGO Sets Made In China? (The Truth!)

.

Synopsis - SOME are, some are made in Denmark, some elsewhere.
So we're NOT doomed - I'm sure we'll all muddle through somehow...

The price. Not worth the gamble. If Ukraine holds up the west is winning. Our enemies will then concentrate on the muslims. We won’t have that problem as it’s manageable here so far.

A war will take their population’s minds off the financial crisis.

If you’re looking for a page on youtube that doesn’t pull punches “China Uncensored” is pretty good. They get close enough to the truth that youtube has demonetized them.

That's only FOUR countries.
And the southern hemisphere is totally bereft of Lego production capacity.

A tenuous situation at best, I'd say.

I stopped watching when he kept saying China tried to invade Taiwan. They never have even tried.

I don’t know where this guy gets it.

Overall I think he means well, but he’s not knowledgeable or can’t articulate well.

“CCP will never invade?”

I got the opposite impression, one that belied the upbeat tone of the voice-over.

Winnie the Pooh is worried that his hold on power is slipping because the nationalist indoctrinated Chinese are seeing their savings disappear and their standard of living deteriorate. Meanwhile, under the Biden regime we have seen chip factories leave Taiwan for our shores, which the Chinese must interpret as a sign we’ve already conceded their dominance over the island.

Finally there’s that little matter in the Ukraine to keep us preoccupied for some time to come.

If that isn’t a recipe for war, I don’t know what is.

Thanks Biden!

China does not need to invade Taiwan militarily. China did not invade Hong Kong either. What China will do is put pressure on countries to not do business with Taiwan, using leverage of size. When Taiwanese people become poor, they will be happy to be taken over by China.

China is buying mines, agricultural land all over the world.
China is smart to not fight foreign wars. Their economy has grown much faster than USA and Europe during last 2 decades.

Your outlook is correct but the reality of such a scenario happening is nil.

If China ever becomes as wealthy as Taiwan it will be because China became a free country with a free market economy.

True, dictatorship can make fast progress from poverty but central planning boggs down the economy after it reaches a certain level. Compared to what China was in 1980 and the wealth today in China is like 10 times bigger.

A baby is ten times bigger when it’s a kid.

Meaningless.

Also true dictatorships never make fast progress as you describe.

Japanese government is about to launch the most expansive defence project that includes local production of the specific ballistic missile. They are concerned not only about Senkaku but islands closer to their land. I do not want to sow panic but the overall image is not very positive. Hopefully, it will better. Another war would be enormous catastrophe.
