According to The Financial Times, US senator Sen. Marco Rubio said that Apple is “playing with fire” with its plans to use chips from a controversial Chinese government-associated company.
A report from a South Korean publisher revealed Apple’s plans to collaborate with Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC) for the new lineup of iPhones.
“If [Apple] moves forward, it will be subject to scrutiny like it has never seen from the federal government,” Rubio told the Financial Times.
Another senator, Rep. McCaul, shared that YMTC has extensive ties to the Chinese Communist party and military. “Apple will effectively be transferring knowledge and know-how to YMTC that will supercharge its capabilities and help the CCP achieve its national goals,” McCaul claimed.
The US government considers YMTC a national security threat. Critics argued that the company is affiliated with and subsidized by the Chinese government. Moreover, YMTC has allegedly violated a US technology export ban by trading chips to sanctioned phone-maker Huawei.

Wow! Slammed huh?
Since when did the Communists ever care about Chinese
skullduggery?
Did Apple fall out of flavor, with Musk?
This is downright comical.
My guess is that Apple has been highly infiltrated by the Chinese just like many others have.
Dick Schroomer agrees...
LOL
What is going on here?
Rubio is in cahoots on this.
We shouldn’t even be in China, so I’m not saying this is
not something worthy of paying attention to, but if Chuck
Schroomer is okay with the protest, I may be wrong to think
this has any creedence.
Where do these failed lawyer brainiacs think those phones are built?
Musk supposedly is developing an Iphone challenger and it’s kept under wraps..
Apple probably got “strong suggestions” from the Chinese to include the chips.
Had the EPA,California, and the US govt not made rules to make manufacturing chips waaay too expensive and in some places impossible they would not have gone to China
Slammed - for using chips from the only source for the needed chips... in part because of leftist policies that make chip making here cost-prohibitive... but yeah. ok.
Show me a smartphone that does NOT contain chips made in China...
Or where the parts for every phone on the market come from... (and apparently even a component of the F35 engines).
That settles that. I’m getting a 13
Every Chinese company, whether you can trace their affiliation or not, is affiliated with the Chinese government and the CCP.
That how things work in China. The government owns everything, the private property is only a façade, the government can take it away without due process at a whim so they have final control over everything and everyone in China.
As long as Apple is working with companies located in China, none of this will stop.
I would have paid more for smart phones with chips made in the US. According to the free traitors I would be stupid for doing so.
Well, Chuck Schoooooooooomer can take some unusual stances. Back in 2005, when the US government was attempting to contract out some of our ports to the Dubai Ports World company (possible conduit for terrorism), Michael (Weiner) Savage and Chuck Schoooooooooomer were both against the deal. Savage actually had Schoooooooooomer on his show to explain his position.
On the other hand, Neil Cavuto was fine with the deal, which was ultimately scuttled. I was tempted to write Neil and remind him that there were things in America more important than his stock portfolio.
Actually, at one point, apple was planning to bring back over $38 billion in money from overseas to invest in American manufacturing after the Trump tax bill altered financial incentives for overseas money (corporate tax cut and cut in repatriation tax).
Did Apple actually go through with that one?
I am with you. I prefer to buy American.
I’m sure Mitch McCrooked will introduce a bill to put a stop to this
My 8 year old iPhone needed replacement so I ordered a 14.
I don’t think my personal information will automatically be transferred to communist China. Should I cancel the order?
I’m sticking with my 11pro for now…
