As a person of mixed races I’d like to say I am so glad that the Colonists drug my ancestors kicking and screaming out of the stone age.
It was revolting against the policies imposed at the time. King George III (and the Parliament, which was being just as heavy handed) doesn’t impose policies the colonists disagreed with...no revolution. Indeed, had London just did the equivalent of counting to ten vs. overreacting to things like the Boston Tea Party, we would probably be a Commonwealth Realm now.
