Licht’s goal may be to make CNN more “neutral” and less “partisan.” But it is very difficult for CNN’s reporters worried about losing their jobs to project a nonpartisan mien, particularly given the naked radicalism of the right and the inclination of its propagandists to smear any reporter that doesn’t hew to its own standards. This is the author's idea of neutrality and balance. Self-awareness is not a strength of the media.

It doesn’t seem the author is under any delusions.
The author states this:
“even though Licht’s moves have barely made a dent in the deeply-embedded partisan leanings of CNN, where the Resistance philosophy still reigns supreme:
That being said, though Licht still has a long way to go to clean house, CNN staffers are “terrified” at not knowing what the future holds there.”

This author of this piece is hard to read, both their personal political leanings and in the way they put a sentence together.
Regardless, hard to argue with the articles base premise.

That is a quote from Media Matters, not Legal Insurrection.
It is Legal Insurrection showing how partisan Media Matters is.
Somehow the quote indent did not make it through when the excerpt was posted.
