San Francisco officials on Tuesday unveiled what they said was a deliberately 'soft touch' scheme to deal with the city's relentless drug crisis - insisting that under their plan 'nobody's going to jail,' but remaining vague on how to end the problem.
With nearly 1,700 fatal overdoses since the start of 2020, San Francisco's drug crisis has resulted in almost double the death toll of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June, the city's mayor, London Breed, announced that their notorious taxpayer-funded open-air drugs market will close at the end of the year.

resign your positions since you are not upholding the law as is your duty.
Simple enough solution. Mortar barrage followed up by tanks. No one gets arrested.
Shoot the dealers on sight would keep everyone out of jail.
Fire hoses work well...
Without Jail? Okay, summary execution on the spot... how about that?
Fuqum
They want to crack down on open air drug markets, but make sure no dealers go to jail.
You have officially failed before you started. Congrats.
Who pays? Obviously the people who have a job. The left is establishing a society in which one part works productively, and a substantial portion of its money is taken and given to the other part, which doesn’t work but willingly takes the money that comes from the productive people.
This is rapidly becoming the norm in democrat areas.
It’s bad enough, but the dems tell the recipients to hate the ones who are paying their way. Which they do.
Take the dealers on a one-way boat ride to the farallon islands.
sell the drugs yourself and spike them with poison. Give it 2 months and the problem will resolve itself.
I have an idea. Close it. Spray anyone who shows up to deal or take drugs with a firehouse.
👍
I work in the Civic Center area, right by the Tenderloin, right by the open air drug markets and everything else.
It was awful for 25 years, MUCH worse since 2020, but oddly in August and Sept I’ve seen a reduction in the number of druggies/mentally ill homeless shooting up right outside my building. Something has changed—and for the better. Hope it continues.
Ban naloxone. The problem will resolve itself.
If the Mayor and City Council are put in jail until the problem is solved—the problem will be solved very quickly!
Here’s the way they see the world. We aren’t living in paradise. Obviously, since government has always done the logical thing and we’re not living in paradise, then we need to do the opposite of the logical thing. If arresting law breakers didn’t lead to paradise, then we need to let law breakers go. If supporting the business community didn’t lead to paradise, we need to tear it apart.
What happens when you do the opposite of the logical thing, yet is has not worked? You obviously can’t do the opposite because you already know that isn’t the path to paradise. Therefore, you ask the artists and street people, those who really count in other words, for suggestions.
Why not give them free fentanyl tainted Skittles...with ice tea to wash them down.
Here’s an idea: nuke San Fransicko from space
