President Donald Trump repeated a highly misleading claim on Friday that Germany will soon depend on Russia for 50 percent to 70 percent of its energy needs.
Earlier this week, Trump opened a new line of criticism against Germany, complaining about a new natural gas pipeline that will directly link Germany and Russia. The United States and several European countries have long opposed the Nord Stream pipeline system, saying it increases Europe’s dependence on Russia and fills Moscow’s coffers despite its destabilizing activity in recent years.
“I think it’s a horrible thing that you have a pipeline coming in from Russia, and I believe that Germany is going to be getting 50, 60 — or even I’ve heard numbers of 70 percent of their energy coming in from Russia,” Trump said Friday during a press conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
Cold showers for arrogant Nazis.
Rush Limbaugh was sure accurate in calling them the “Drive by Media”. A group of people that report irresponsible or false news, and then drive on, never to be held responsible for what they said.
Yup, just straight up news right there. No opinion. Nope. Just try to imagine this written about any Democrat.
Well, we're gonna find out in November.
Greta is gonna blow her (smoke)stack.
its amazing how the libs can be proven wrong so many times for such a long time and still be considered a trusted source.
Wrong again MSM..
Probably so ! But wait until she goes into a sauna and finds it colder that the outside temperature.
Let's see how she feels about becoming a 'human popsicle'.
Choices have consequences !
Nearly 50% (49% I believe).
AMEN
Great article, thanks for posting.
Most of the captive (mainstream) corporate media is just serving the function that Pravda use to serve in the old Soviet Union, just doing it in a more sophisticated way.
There are 3 elements to this story. There’s natural gas used by the private consumer to heat homes. There’s natural gas used by industry for product production. Finally, there’s natural gas used by the energy companies to balance the ‘failures’ of renewable energy (wind, solar)....to which this amounts to 12-percent of the national grid being natural gas from Russia.
I’ll cite this as a weird element of the story. This week, one of the oldest toilet paper companies in Germany (been around for 90-plus years) said ‘enough’, and went bankrupt. They had two issues...one being the logistics chain is crapped-up in Germany (just in general), and second....their product required the use of natural gas, and it became too expensive to make toilet paper.
Just in general...the rate of cost for natural gas is somewhere around five times what it was in 2021. Any day now....I expect a grocery package (20 rolls) of toilet paper to go from 10 Euro (3 ply) to around 15 Euro.
The protests are growing within Germany, UK, and many other EU countries and will continue to grow with each passing week.
The UK/Germany/EU doubling and tripling down in the face of these growing protests is/are going to have destabilizing effects on these governments unless they resort to ultimate crackdowns on such, and even, then, will probably piss the people off even more leading to further destabilizing effects.
Crackdowns are discussed, but the people at the bottom of the crackdown ‘gimmick’ (the riot-police) are also paying excess amounts for their natural gas/grid. So I don’t see them that excited to participate in an crackdown project for a Saturday (especially in winter).
The other part to this....99-percent of society is affected. It’s not like a left-situation or right-situation.
This past week, I saw a German news piece....80-year old retiree and wife (he’d done well in life) with a 160 sq meter home, and the warning letter that his typical 1,500 Euro a year heating bill...would go to 9,000 Euro instead. Massive shock for this guy.
All of this...leads onto a massive recession in spring/summer of 2023 (people won’t be able to afford new cars or summer vacations).
800-850% increase in utility prices in Germany from what I understand. Crazy stuff and definitely a massive shock for most anyone/everyone/general populace.
