The United States ambassador to United Nations says there's evidence that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have been interrogated and forcibly deported to Russian filtration camps, in what she's calling "a series of horrors." The accusation by Linda Thomas-Greenfield — dismissed as fantasy by Russia — came during a United Nations Security Council meeting late Wednesday.
This comes as Secretary of State Antony Blinken makes an unannounced trip to Ukraine Thursday— his second visit to Kiev since the war began six months ago.
“Man, the satellite photos of these camps must show some pretty horrific stuff.”
Actually it’s thanks to people like yourself demanding evidence is why the folks making these claims will have to produce said evidence.
Myself, I doubt a Secretary of State would want to go before the UN making serious accusations like this without something to back it up.
Just like you, I’d like to see the evidence, too.
More like a poop squad that needs a mercy flush.
US Ambassador is 1) an utter idiot and 2) utterly clueless.
Russia is at war with Ukraine, capture soldiers are rightly and traditionally placed in POW camps. There is no war crime in that, even though the concept of a war crime is silly. War itself is a crime between one side or another. What should have happened to the Germans who starved or gassed people in camps, should have been Germans trying them and punishing them. Big bad Allies had to do the deed themselves, when it would have been better for all sides if the guilty would have been judged by the enablers and the blameless. If Americans commit crimes in a war, do we not punish the people ourselves?
This has nothing to do with POWs.
Compare the description of what is going on with the treatment of undocumented migrants on the southern border. It’s the same thing plus crazy spin.
