German Minister of Economics Robert Habeck is under fire after his comments during an interview with an ARD broadcaster on Tuesday evening.
The conversation surrounded the astronomical rise in the price of energy taking all the income away from people who would purchase other goods and services. As Germans no longer can afford purchases, the stores and businesses can no longer operate. Minister Habeck was asked if that means a wave of bankruptcies and business closures are forecast.
Mr. Habeck responded that businesses can stop operating, but that doesn’t mean they will go insolvent. Just because the business loses most or all of their revenue, doesn’t mean they will go bankrupt. That doesn’t make sense, Minister Habeck was pressed to apply commonsense. If businesses close to save money, workers are not employed. If workers are not employed people do not earn income. If people do not earn income, the economy worsens.
Habeck had no response other than an economically detached “Green Party” perspective that businesses will not go bankrupt just because they are not operating. However, his facial expressions reflect that he knows what comes next, total economic collapse.
Things are about to get very spicy in Germany as the reality of the unsustainable Build Back Better agenda starts to sink in.
The intellectual disconnect from an economic minister to the consequences of an energy policy removing trillions of dollars from the economy is stunning.

Because we speak German, we watched both Habeck on ARD make his utterly stupid statements, but also Alice Weidel from the AfD and Sarah Wagenknecht from die Linke party both say rather similar things, as regards the utter idiocy of Germany's current government, the so-called Red-Green coalition.
When voices on the Right and Left take aim at Habeck and the rest of the idiots currently atop German government, one sees as you said that "Things are going to get very bad very fast now."
It is a parallel to the current idiots atop the federal government, with "diversity" in morals but lock step enforcement of corrupt politics and policies making chaos where order could be, and insolvencies where energy independence was when Trump left office.
"Things are going to get very bad very fast now."
The right has been warning about an economic collapse resulting from green policies about as long as the greenies have been predicting the end of the world. I hope at last a real economic collapse finally occurs. Germany is a good place for it to start.
who’s laughing now
A lot of people are saying “We told you so”. Even if it is good to be proven right it is still sad, because Germany wasn’t listening when they should have.
Even how things are now a little economic hardship will do Europe good. Kids were getting spoiled when there was an abundance of everything and started to rebel against things bringing us this abundance.
Kids want to rebel no matter what happens and at least now they have a worthy cause to get behind. Putting on a sweater is not a big sacrifice, but I like it better when they put on a sweater and are feeling like fighters than when they try to tear down our society out of boredom.
We've seen how this scenario plays out once before:
Hope they wake up.
I expect they will...but they will be shivering.
Russians won’t be cold this winter... Who’s winning and what does victory look like?
Shovel-ready jobs right there. Although they also look like living room lamps with lampshades, which would be ironic the the face of electricity shortages.
American and European governments are to blame for the coming recession. It’s our fault we lost control of our government, which influences the world economy more than any other.
That’s why everyone keeps blaming everyone except those who brought this about, the VOTERS brought it about with decades of demanding cake without paying for it as we ate.
The bill always comes due eventually.
Two huge mistakes:
1. The bear won’t eat you if given a chance. Do not depend on the near.
2. Gullible people believe the climate change hogwash and bought the big lie that wind and solar will keep the planet from frying.
That’s a big part of it, yes. However, deficit spending started long before the Climate hysteria got out of hand.
Even wasting money on the Climate wouldn’t be a big problem with proper budget control.
The Graham-Rudman was supposed to fix that way back in ‘85. It was already too late. The govt behemoth is so entrenched in the economy now it would take a major depression to straighten things out. What we will get is the equivalent of bandaids on cancer.
