On Tucker Carlson Tonight, the Fox News host discussed the rape and murder of Eliza Fletcher in Memphis, Tennessee. The story has shocked much of the nation, but as Carlson noted, far too many were NOT shocked by it.
Leftists on social media went so far as to victim-blame Fletcher, wondering why she didn’t know “the rules” about jogging at that hour in a city like Memphis. Some of the comments were disgusting on their face, but they also betrayed a deeper problem we’re facing as a nation. Law and order have been replaced in many areas of the country with these so-called “rules” that mean American citizens should expect violence.
It’s the normalization of criminal dysfunction as the prevailing, unspoken law of the land. And as Carlson emphatically said, it must be stopped immediately before everywhere is Memphis
“Our entire country will be Memphis if we don’t put a stop to this insanity right now with as much force as is required,” he said.
Watch it all the way through to the end. He’s absolutely right. But even as crime turns once-safe cities into playgrounds for violent degenerates, Democrats continue to promote the very “equity” that rewards evil and punishes good. They reward failure and punish success.

You're setting up a false dichotomy. It's not either be prudent and situationally aware and prepared to defend yourself against possible threats or punish the thugs severely, it's both/and.

Once again, you're confusing counselling prudent behavior given the threat environment with assigning moral blame. That's morally confused reasoning. The moral blame still rests with the perps. It still makes sense for potential victims to behave prudently.
Let me help you by giving you an easy example. You're an American soldier at the front in France in 1944. You walk around in plain view of the enemy, with no camouflage, unarmed, in the middle of the day. You get shot.
Pointing out that walking around in plain view of the enemy with no weapon and no camouflage in a combat zone is foolish behavior is not taking blame away from Hitler and putting it on the dead American soldier. It's explaining prudent behavior in a combat zone.
I'm sorry that many American cities are combat zones, especially for women who are alone. My sorrow doesn't change the fact that they are.
I'm not sure a truly law-abiding, safe society has ever existed; study up sometime on the serial killers in 19th C and early 20th C America, not to mention England and Europe.

Tennessee is deep red, RINO’s or not. Dems used to win back in segregation days. The Dems invented Jim Crow laws.

When violent criminals are emboldened by criminal politicians to believe they are victims of society and should seek “social Justice” this is what we will get.
I am sorry, but most black people are not ready to lead because they cannot see past the color of THEIR own skin. Every thought, every action is based on “getting even” with whitey.
I am sure this truly kind and sweet woman would have been horrified at the thought of even owning a pistol let alone carrying it with the express purpose of killing any man who attacked her. American woman are like that, they won’t fight and won’t any man do it for them. In my longish life I have known one woman who said she would kill anyone who menaced her children and not think twice and another who does quietly go armed when out in the woods no matter what BLM or the Park Service posts. Aside from those, not much. Most women just hysterically hate firearms. The native toughness of native Americans is just not around. It will be relearned but at a price.
He is a career criminal whose first arrest was at the age 11.
He served 20 years in prison. He was released two years ago.
I do not believe he was released early. I BELIEVE he served the entire sentence as prescribed by Tennessee state law.

Correct, guns are used for self defense and a useful tool with the fact that the Democrats are allowing known harmful criminals to roam the streets and are light on punishment so there is no deterrence value. Be aware of your surroundings and the crime rates and choose to be prepared for the worst hoping it will never happen.

Maybe there are. We won’t know. How many murders go unsolved in Chicago and other places? Maybe some are death squad victims, and the police know who the killers are. I doubt it myself, given the low fatality rates from the Chicago shooting reports.

My niece lives in Mempiss and works for Amazon. I have begged her to take a situational awareness class and get her carry permit but she won’t listen. Last time I saw her I said honey you have a gift that God gave all of us, if you’re not going to take any defensive classes or get a carry permit, listen to that feeling in your gut when it says something is wrong, it might save your life. She’s still young and naïve to the world...
I wonder what is different about these two cases that the one last year received national attention on a daily basis for over a year and the murder in Memphis gets nary a mention on the mainstream media outlets with no mention at all of the demographics of the killer or the victim?
