Responding to President Biden’s Labor Day speech ripping former President Donald Trump and his supporters, the GOP mocked the low turnout at his rally for union steelworkers near Pittsburgh.
“MASSIVE crowd for Joe Biden in Pennsylvania today!,” the Republican National Committee Research account tweeted Monday, adding two laughing emojis.
The posting included a photo showing Biden on the stage outside a union hall in West Mifflin, southeast of the Steel City, speaking before a crowd of a few dozen people.
One picture, posted online by Molly Nagle of ABC News, showed Biden, 79, speaking in shirtsleeves in front of the United Steelworkers of America Local Union 2227 hall.
Other Twitter users noted the low turnout, with one asking NBC News reporter Kelly O’Donnell: “Biden in Pittsburgh. Same speech he gave in Wisconsin, much less energy. Why? Where is the crowd in Pittsburgh? Where’s the turnout?”
Another user attempted to provide an answer, suggesting: “Biden Labor Day speech in Pennsylvania was open to union members only. Turnout about 100, maybe 150? Spending Labor Day at a Democrats rally – probably sounded as appealing as going to a crochet class.”

I saw Biden’s motorcade in Chicago once when he was VP. That was enough of him for me.

If Biden ever attempted to speak before a large unscreened crowd, he would not like what he would hear.

Figure I saw recently was union membership was 40% of the work force in 1960 and now is roughly 12%.
So good ol’ lunch bucket Joe can try to rally the 12% and feel like Woody Guthrie , sort of.
Also, for decades the rank and file would go to Reagan or Trump while the union leaders not currently in prison would go or the Dems.
the man with 81 million votes couldn’t find enough supporters to outnumber the secret service and fib agents.
And Corn Pop was not even real so he/she/it could not even show up.
I think most union members now are govt employees. So likely to vote Democrat.

More importantly Fetterman was there as well. Not many came out for him either.
