NYT: Russia Buying Millions of N. Korean Weaponry
KBS World ^ | 2022-09-06 | Unnamed

Russia is reportedly buying millions of artillery shells and rockets from North Korea to shore up its arsenal in its ongoing war with Ukraine.

The New York Times reported on Monday, citing newly declassified U.S. intelligence, which lacked detail on the type of North Korean weaponry being sent to Russia, as well as the scale and timing of their shipment.

The Times quoted a Washington official as saying that Moscow was expected to seek additional purchases of military equipment from Pyongyang in the future.

Other global media outlets also issued similar reports, with the Associated Press citing a U.S. official saying that the purported transaction between the two long-standing allies reveals Russia’s worsening supply shortages in its conflict with Ukraine amid international export restrictions and sanctions.

The U.S. government earlier disclosed that the Russian military received initial shipments of Iranian drones last month, which reportedly showed some mechanical problems.

So Russia pays billions to North Korea with the extra money they are raking in over the sanctions that have backfired, North Korea will refill their arsenals with the money by paying it back to Russia who make the munitions at some point in the future, while western leaders are freezing the populations over the winter

Wait until a China starts supplying the Russians with advanced military equipment if they are not doing so already. No one ever talks about that upcoming event which is as certain as the sunrise. While our useless government makes war on American citizens China will make its move. All while leftists and neocons are navel gazing at their dirty little money-laundering factory named the Ukraine.

Oddly I’ve never heard any talk about the Chinese and weapons. I think they share many of the same designs so One would think they sell them also?

That's because Russia and the People's Republic of China are not really allies, but longtime rivals who are competing for control of East and Central Asia, and it's in the PRC's interest to sit back and watch Putin push the Russian Armed Forces into the Ukrainian meat grinder.

So Russia pays billions to North Korea with the extra money they are raking in over the sanctions that have backfired,

If Russian sanctions have backfired, why has Russia stopped gas sales to Europe? Why doesn't Russia just continue the status quo?

And Iran will buy Missiles from N Korea.

Of course that won't happen cuz we're signing an agreement with Iran and lifting the sanctions...good ole Brandon...

Meanwhile...The peasants of North Korea will continue to starve and North Korea will be the new market for weapon arsenals.

NY Post: "Russia to buy rockets, artillery shells from North Korea: US intelligence"

The Russian Ministry of Defense is in the process of purchasing millions of rockets and artillery shells from North Korea for its ongoing fight in Ukraine, according to a newly downgraded US intelligence finding.

A US official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the intelligence determination, said Monday that the fact Russia is turning to the isolated state of North Korea demonstrates that “the Russian military continues to suffer from severe supply shortages in Ukraine, due in part to export controls and sanctions.”

The very same NYT that reported that Trump is ‘truly the enemy of the people’?

The same NYT that reported that Hunter BidenIdiot’s laptop was Russian Disinformation?

I could go on and on.

But then again, any long standing FR member knows how to use the keyword search at the right hand top of the page.

Additionally, any long standing FR members KNOWS that the NYT is right about as many times a broken clock is....

The National Enquirer puts out more actual news than the NYT.

Western Europe is going to freeze this winter, the Russian Ruble is more valuable now after the sanctions, Russia is making more money on fossil fuels now because the prices have skyrocketed and Russia is still occupying Ukrainian territory, so YES the sanctions have backfired

YES the sanctions have backfired

If its going so great for Russia, why is it that Russia is trying to upset the status quo? Europe is refusing to drop the sanctions, its Russia that has stopped the gas sales to Europe.

That’s a dumb question, if someone sanctions your country and tries to cut it if off from the rest of the world’s economy, why would anyone continue to do business that way, especially when you can sell your products to other countries who are not sanctioning you at much greater prices and rake in more money.

We were told the sanctions were put in place to punish Russia and get them to back off, they have not done that and have resulted in near hyperinflation in Western Europe and warnings of energy shortages with people freezing over the winter and businesses shutting down.

By every possible measure, the sanctions have backfired.

By every possible measure, the sanctions have backfired.

So sanctions have backfired but Russia is desperate to change the status quo. So contrary to your argument, the sanctions ARE affecting Russia to a significant degree.

Sanctions rarely work...Saddam spent the food/medicine monies meant for his people on 50 new palaces.

Ask Jefferson how his embargo worked out.

So, Russia’s not broke yet. They can still afford billions in armaments.

So much for Bidementia’s sanctions.

What status quo is Russia trying to change ?? They invaded Ukraine and hold significant Ukrainian Territory and show no signs of giving up and retreating.

I’ve said multiple times in many other threads on FR, I don’t believe any of the propaganda being put out by either side in this war, it appears you do believe some of it.

We will know at some point in the future which side is winning but right now anyone that says they are certain of what’s happening has no idea unless they are actually in Ukraine.

Even this article about Russia buying munitions from North Korea could be false, we have no idea, but my statements about the sanctions stand until proven otherwise by who backdowns first.
