Staring at the possibility of Labor Day blackouts, managers of California’s power grid issued an extended Flex Alert for Monday afternoon and evening but warned that voluntary conservation might not be enough to keep the lights on.
The Independent System Operator, which runs the grid, also issued a Stage 1 energy emergency alert Monday morning, a signal that supplies will be very tight. The grid “is forecasting an energy deficiency, with all available resources in use or forecasted to be in use,” the ISO said.
A Stage 1 alert is a call to generators and transmitters to make as much power available as possible. Blackouts would be imposed if the grid reaches a Stage 3 emergency.

They are pushing new standards for euthanasia included "unwilling" ones where a doctor can declare depression is reason for the person to be killed off. A lready done in Scandinavia. And doctor can give drugs (or withhold them)to cause the mood to go lower to reach the threshold of the depression diagnosis.
Reduce electricity usage between 4 and 10pm is the new one, no lights lower ac usage I so hate the demonrats in this state

It get worse as the days get shorter...solar output rolls off fast. A late Sept. or October hot spell will be touble.
Do the DemoMarxist realize that they are making these mandates such as “no gas powered cars sold after 2035” without any real studies or experiments as to what the effects could be?
4% of passenger vehicles in Ca are EV. It is estimated the grid will go down when they reach 10%. One can only imagine the lunacy of 100% EVs suckling on the grid. As crazy as requiring fast food chains to pay their workers $22 an hour.
Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant makes 8.5% of the states electricity and the democrats wanted to shut in down starting 2024!!!
They had to rescind that recently. Now it is 2030.
BTW they make electricity at .6 cents a k/w.
The state has the price at .20 to .30 a k/w to force you to use less power for a/c and heat which results in terrible conditions for those that cannot pay or even death.
The Cali Commies already have decommissioned natural gas plants that produced more than 10 gigawatts of power, in favor of dangerous, inefficient, environmentally damaging, and unstable solar & wind power that is incapable of surging in extreme weather conditions. California now must buy 30%+ of its power needs from surrounding states in order to meet demand. And Gov. “Greaseball” Newsom, leader of the Green Gestapo, destroyer of San Francisco, defiler of his best friend’s wife, and wrecker of the Golden State, thinks he’s going to be the next POTUS. Ha!

here in LA on Monday a.m. i had no power from 1 - 5 a.m. so they were doing rolling blackouts then. it came w/out warning - inside of my house was 89 degrees. Gavin’s decision to take nat gas/nuclear stations off grid is part of the problem, and the undependability of renewables another, the capacity of grid is dwarfed by demand.
Third-world state.
Population drop coming over the next decade....probably a quarter of the state population will find better living conditions elsewhere.
Quick, everybody, go buy a coal powered car that uses a battery to store energy.
