I think we all need to get certified on HAM radio (just in case).
Have been since 1976 (got my advanced license then, Extra in 1985). Also hold a GROL Commercial license, since 2000.
Am not an appliance operator. Ran a Navy/Marine MARS station out of my home for 19 years.
Had excellent mentors when I lived in NM. Many of my friends worked at the Labs and military bases.
I’ve taught both amateur and commercial license courses.

A fair number of us already are. Not that I've had a QSO with any Amateur Radio Operator Freeper on air that I know of.
