Be funny if California soon orders public charging stations to shut down during periods of marginal power generation.

“Just leave the government out of it and the free market will take care of itself.”

Agree, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem an option, with electric cars now MANDATED by 2035 in much of the country.

It will be a good market for flatbed towing companies.

This kind of edict was supposed to come down after gas-powered cars were banned and unavailable, not before.

Thankfully our domestic tyrants have not yet quite got their “A” game going...

Wait till the state and fed government start to charge a road use tax on those things.

Got an EV? Then here is your yearly road use tax...5 grand..or more!

Added right into your April 15th income tax filing.

Very expensive, for a small, plastic car.
“Lightyear is taking reservations now at a cost of around $130,000. That’s just a “reservation fee.” The company expects the cars to cost about €150,000 in the Netherlands, including taxes, when it goes into production.”

In Indiana, you pay the road tax for EVs and Hybrids with your license plate fees.

Pushing an agenda with no teeth and they know it. The infrastructure is not there, the technology is not there but the ability to control you is

when 100s or thousands of EVs are trapped in creeping gridlock for 12-72 hours?

As long as they don't use AC or heat, that's not a problem. If they aren't moving they aren't using electricity. If they are creeping along, they are using extremely minimal power.

For gridlock, EV's are better options than gasoline except if it is hot and you use AC or cold and you use heat.

If it’s sunny out...
All year round, 24/7/365, how much of that year is bright, overhead sunlight? 20%, maybe. Nighttime is dark, of course and the northern climes have long, winter nights. Then there's cloudy, rainy days where you will get reduced solar conversion power all through the daytime. And even on bright sunny days, it's the same for early morning and late in the day, where the low sun will provide little power. Ditto for the overhead sun when there's intermittent cloud cover drifting by.

Sure, tell me again, if it’s sunny out...

I think I should get one of those petrol/LNG generators...has a 220V outlet,

Mount it on the back of my 1978 F150 truck and park in somewhere on I5 with a sign:

Charge your EV $200 per hour...cash only.

If I had air conditioning, I’d set it for 60 deg at 4 pm and open some windows. And change the water heater timer from 4am to 4pm.
