Seventeen states with vehicle emission standards tied to rules established in California face weighty decisions on whether to follow that state's strictest-in-the nation new rules that require all new cars, pickups and SUVs to be electric or hydrogen powered by 2035.
Under the Clean Air Act, states must abide by the federal government's standard vehicle emissions standards unless they at least partially opt to follow California's stricter requirements.
States including Washington, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon and Vermont are expected to adopt California´s ban on new gasoline-fueled vehicles.

Get yourself a horse.
I hope I live long enough to see them try that. I could use a good laugh.
And then under animal rights, they’ll ban that too.
good.
let the fallacy be exposed now before we destroy ourselves.......
I have repeatedly said multiple times that an industrialized country the size of the US cannot be sustained or maintained on solar panels and compost patties.
sure solar panels and some other sources of energy can be nice supplements to our existing energy grid if utilized correctly, but it simply is incapable of being the primary supplier of energy for the world.
And I’m confident enough in G-d’s ways to know that the world cannot maintain 9+ billion people without utilizing the existing fossil fuels and nuclear power that we currently have.
less energy = less people alive
Don’t horses contribute to global warming? Or is that just cows? 😝🤗🤪
Deep States don't like freedom of movement.
Yes, the concept of total cost of ownership is lost on the stupid who buy EVs.

“Cutting off the nose to spite the face” applies here. And the people most affected still believe that democraps have the answers and will vote for them in droves. How does that definition of insanity go again?
It is evident that the day newsom banned gas vehicles by 2035 the very next day he asked kindly if you didn’t charge your electric vehicle because it puts a strain on the grid during the heat wave. Kindly is really a demand which is control and this is what its all about. Colorado energy enticed some people to sign up to their free sh## so they could install thermostats in your house and shut them down during a heat wave, control. They want complete control
Do they fart?
Cows don’t. They have too many stomachs. Gas displaces the stomach containing it, and it may require surgery to remove that gas and put the stomach back in place with the others. Horses, however, do not have more than one stomach, so they might well fart.
I don’t know if cows burp, though. I sure do, and it’s chock full of carbon dioxide. I believe horses burp, because the only way I can make that horsy sound with my lips is right after burping. So they must, too.
How about Llamas? Can we ride around on the Dalai Llama’s back?
Someone recently brought up the issue of gas mowers being outlawed in California in the future, and how the Hispanic landscaper folks will give up and just leave the state.
Me too.
I saw an ad for one of the new electric trucks last night.
0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds!
I can only speak for me, but flying off the line isn’t something I look for in a truck. Hauling a load or pulling a trailer is. Of course, that’s the weakness of battery power.
EV trucks are a non-starter for serious use. But, taking your dad’s Rivian to school, cutting doughnuts in the parking lot and showing off? That’s were it shines!
That’s how they’ll control unchecked border hopping! They’ll make America suck so bad that the illegals will be happy to swim back across the Rio Grande.
Ahhh!
So you have figured out the REAL plan, agenda, and goal, have you?
Good work, Jay!
Stupid is as stupid does.
My vision of the future is car owners being required to have their own power and not allowed to plug them in to the grid.
Lots of cars being recharged with generators.
