The blue state vs. red state war is getting ugly.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom — who wants to run for president and apparently thinks he doesn’t have enough problems in his own crime-ridden hobo-infested state —has been taking out ads in Texas newspapers attacking Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for his generally unremarkable positions on abortion and gun control. Abbott has about the same views as any other Republican governor, but Newsom clearly feels threatened by Texas, which has been eating California’s lunch, which is no doubt vegan and gluten-free. While Texas has its problems (its violent-crime rate is almost identical to California’s), its low-cost/low-hassle business environment is a standing rebuke to California’s model of high-cost henpecking.
New York’s Texas is Florida, and Governor Kathy Hochul has declared that Republicans in her state should “just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong. OK? Get out of town. Because you don’t represent our values.” In this as in much else, she echoes her cretinous predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, who infamously said that those who support the Second Amendment or oppose the elective surgical dismemberment of unborn children “have no place in the state of New York.”

Quibble: Those ain’t hobos in cali, they’re dopers, criminals and psychos.
“just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong. OK? Get out of town. Because you don’t represent our values.”
What are NYs values, and how do they differ from the immigrants?
I'm just thinking long range here about what might happen if the "great reset" actually leads to a great collapse? If Americans living in the big cities are at each others' throats today, with all systems functioning, what will happen if those civilizational foundations are completely removed?
Government can "print" from the thin-air as much digital EBT money as they desire, but they cannot magically print food, clean water, electricity, gasoline, diesel, home heating oil etc. and distribute it to cities.
The capital city of Mississippi can't provide safe drinking water for its population. This is just a pin-prick compared to what might be around the corner. Safe water for cities doesn't "just happen," much as we take it for granted. Is Jackson a harbinger of the future, or a rare outlier?
What happens when a NYC or LA can't provide safe drinking water to their millions of already on-the-edge inhabitants? When the food trucks stop? No more gas and diesel, empty ATMs, looted supermarkets? What then?
One of the good things about the pandemic was that the success of red state governance so out shown the blue state model, it wasn’t even close. Red states restored freedom, the economy, schools and normality much earlier than blue states and had better Covid outcomes without the downs sides of lockdowns. Blue state governors have a lot to answer for.
Newscum thinks he can win a presidential election in 2024. I can’t think of any other reason why he’d be pushing the Rat message in TX and FL.
