The question came during Lake’s press conference Thursday following President Joe Biden’s speech, in which he called MAGA Republicans a threat to America.
“You say you feel like Joe Biden is dividing the country, but do you feel like Donald Trump is doing the same by falsely telling people he won that election when he lost it?” the reporter asked.
This is one of the best answers to the media’s 2020 election questions I’ve heard. pic.twitter.com/yYni3wwjhi

“How does that divide the country? Questioning an election where there are obviously problems is dividing the country? Since when can we not ask questions about our elections?” Lake, a former Fox 10 phoenix anchor, asked the reporter. She continued:
As a journalist for many years, I was a journalist after 2016 and I distinctly remember many people just like you asking a lot questions about the 2016 election results. And nobody tried to shut you up. Nobody tried to tell Hillary Clinton to shut up. Nobody tried to Kamala Harris when she was questioning the legitimacy of these electronic voting machines to stop.
We have freedom of speech in this country and you of all people should appreciate that. You’re supposedly a journalist, you should appreciate that. So, I don’t see how asking question about an election where there are many problems is dividing a country. What I do see as dividing a country is shutting people down, censoring people, canceling people, trying to destroy people’s lives when they do have questions.

Let’s hope Hobbs & Fetterman can drown their losing sorrows together.
Like Freeper jdsteel said, we need women to stand up with us, not for us. But there's another point to be made here.
For many years now, the Democrats and their propaganda mills (CNN, MSNBC, NYT) have attacked us as "the party of old white men." And in case you haven't noticed, the Biden Administration seems to have very few white males -- at least, heterosexual ones.
We need more female candidates. And Kari Lake is hell on wheels, as this interview (and others) demonstrated. She rhetorically takes hold of a left-wing propaganda minion, and tears his legs off without breaking a sweat. My kind of woman.
What we need and what we have are 2 different things.
Look at all the butt kissing we did to placate our minority ornaments like Larry Steele, Colin Powell, maybe even JC Watts. Then there’e Scott(SC). Of the women there’s Kay Bailey, Whitman(NJ), and 2 Senators we all know of. The one from Maine I’ll give a pass on.
Because the GOP women and minorities were lukewarm our manly men became girlie-like. We paid the price.
Damn! She’s good. I don’t live in Arizona but I am going to send her some money.
Didn’t Rush play that once in a while? Maybe to remind us of what we avoided.
That voice. Argh. “Harcourt! Harcourt Fenton Mudd! Have you been drinking again?” From “I, Mudd” on the original Star Trek.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like this earlier tweet from her

The local news is covering your debate dodge, @katiehobbs
Katie, You can’t even sit in a chair next to @tedatpbs and face me, yet you expect the people of Arizona to think you’d stand toe to toe with the Cartels?
Coward.
Thanks. Good news report from a local outlet or two.
Hobbs is the absolute worst. She’s another Whitmer or Hutchel (NY) clone. That’s the last thing AZ needs.
