The question came during Lake’s press conference Thursday following President Joe Biden’s speech, in which he called MAGA Republicans a threat to America.
“You say you feel like Joe Biden is dividing the country, but do you feel like Donald Trump is doing the same by falsely telling people he won that election when he lost it?” the reporter asked.
This is one of the best answers to the media’s 2020 election questions I’ve heard. pic.twitter.com/yYni3wwjhi

“How does that divide the country? Questioning an election where there are obviously problems is dividing the country? Since when can we not ask questions about our elections?” Lake, a former Fox 10 phoenix anchor, asked the reporter. She continued:
As a journalist for many years, I was a journalist after 2016 and I distinctly remember many people just like you asking a lot questions about the 2016 election results. And nobody tried to shut you up. Nobody tried to tell Hillary Clinton to shut up. Nobody tried to Kamala Harris when she was questioning the legitimacy of these electronic voting machines to stop.
We have freedom of speech in this country and you of all people should appreciate that. You’re supposedly a journalist, you should appreciate that. So, I don’t see how asking question about an election where there are many problems is dividing a country. What I do see as dividing a country is shutting people down, censoring people, canceling people, trying to destroy people’s lives when they do have questions.

“What’s happening is we’re seeing American citizens, moms and dads, stepping forward running for office, and Joe Biden is threatened by that,” she detailed before taking aim at her general election opponent, Arizona’s Democrat Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.
“And people like Katie Hobbs, people who are career politicians, are threatened by real individuals who are stepping forward, getting off the sidelines, getting in the game. And they’re saying, ‘you know what, I’m going to run. I’m going to help my fellow countrymen,'” she added.
WOW! She is great. No wonder her opponent is in hiding.
This may be the only female I’d vote for. She is good.
Kari Lake certainly says the right things.
It was a withering, measured and full frontal rebuttal to the ridiculous fruit who started by repeating the MSM babble speak about “Trump’s lies”.
Kari is Presidential material. Being Governor of Arizona will be a walk in the park for her.
Kari Lake almost makes me wish I had given more consideration to moving to AZ back in the 80s when my wife and I discussed it due to a temporary assignment out there. I’d certainly be out there putting up signs and canvassing for somebody willing to give such a straight-from-the-shoulder response to an impertinent question.
Spot on the enough line is being crossed.
Ok men let’s be honest. We need women to stand up for us. Embarrassing or true? I say both.
Great statement!
Im sure the republican establishment is so embarrassed to see someone stand up for free speech. (But really because she might control the border. They are pigs).
“Since when can we not ask questions about our elections?”
When the Democrat Party steals an election ma’am, it stays stolen.
Yes but they are a minority. Stupid women elect democrats every chance they get.
They hurt people terribly while believing they are helping.

Hobbs is a twice "Convicted Racist"! Perfect and brilliant call to vote for Kari.
No wonder her opponent Hobbs does not want to debate her. Lake is incredibly bright and articulate and knows her way around a loaded question to disarm it and point it back at her debate opponent. In this case, the media.
As a journalist for many years, I was a journalist after 2016 and I distinctly remember many people just like you asking a lot questions about the 2016 election results. And nobody tried to shut you up. Nobody tried to tell Hillary Clinton to shut up. Nobody tried to [shut up] Kamala Harris when she was questioning the legitimacy of these electronic voting machines to stop.
The people in power are not interested in the truth, of much of anything. They have their message, and expect We The People to accept their words as gospel. That is not the American Way. There is a reason for Freedom of Speech, and not just in the US Congress.
It's not "Science" if the conclusions cannot be questioned through independent analysis, observing the original data, and performing experimentation.
The current arbitrary cancel culture is the real enemy of Democracy.
“ Ok men let’s be honest. We need women to stand up for us.”
We need women to stand up WITH us. Not embarrassing.
Lake is very quick witted without any bitchiness.
She’s impressive.
........”then turned into swamp dwellers as soon as they got into office”

You’ve got that right. Unfortunately, that’s practically my ENTIRE VOTING HISTORY. How many times do I have to be fooled?
They are interviewing for one of the best jobs in the world. They know what to say to get elected.
Jaded skeptic.
I agree, and I want very much for her to do great things.
She reminds me of Margaret Thatcher.
I remember well when Reagan began his ascent in 1978 or 1979. I kept expecting him to hit the wall, to flame out in some way. To say the wrong thing and eliminate himself, or for some scandal in his past to be uncovered.
But none of those things happened. He just kept going and going, until he ran over Carter and made him look like road kill.
Then when he got into the White House, I was still expecting him to flame out. When he handled the PATCO strike (after the assassination attempt) I began to actually believe in him. It was wonderful what happened after that.
But that was so long ago. 40 years since we had a Conservative on the national scene that didn't make any missteps. Perhaps Kari Lake will be like RR. I certainly hope so.
Wow, she rocks. I don’t say that lightly and I am not a cheerleader.
Go sit in the corner.
