TAIPEI, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Taiwan's military for the first time shot down an unidentified civilian drone that entered its airspace near an islet off the Chinese coast on Thursday, after the government vowed to take tough measures to deal with an increase in such intrusions.

I suppose the Chinese will be watching Biden’s speech tonight to assess Biden’s mental state, based on what he says and doesn’t say, how many times he slurs his words, how much he rants like a crazy person, if he attacks Americans instead of our enemies, etc. They are supposed to be very good at that.

Funny. I was just talking to a small business owner in my area. He said he spoke with a long time friend/house member who told him to gear up and stock up, that Taiwan and China will be at war in October, prior to the mid-terms.
At present, China is experiencing what may be existential economic problems. A significant segment of the youth have decided to Lie Flat...... do nothing. Growing out of that is a segment that has decided to Let It Rot. There is turmoil and opposition within the CCP
So, the corrupt military may have decided it’s now or never. We must fight the fight now or never get another chance.

China may have a desire to invade Taiwan but do they have the capability?
Short answer no, but that does not preclude Xi from trying.
Russia and China have a lot in common, perhaps the two biggest is top down management and corruption.
Putin attack Ukraine with (I assume) full assurance from his military that they were ready but as we have seen they really were not ready (lack of training, lack of supplies and lack of maintenance).
China has the same problem with the added obstacle being any invasion has to be by boat or air and that Taiwan has had over 70 years to prepare the battlefield.
Can China invade Taiwan, sure, can they win? Only if they get lucky.

Also, China has a dearth of military age personnel, due to the one-child policy, and the parents are very protective of their respective one child, being too old to have another.

Bear in mind that "these people" that you see and hear on television and the internet are minions reading scripts given to them by their handlers. That includes Joe Biden, the figurehead President of the United States.
"These people" are stupid, but they have a gig that pays well and does not require too much work. They will do as they are told.
The Chinese rulers do not care in the slightest way what Biden says or how he says it. It is all theatrics aimed at a different audience.
The shadow people directing the scripts know exactly what they are doing. It is mostly distraction to keep the population confused and easier to manipulate.
The rest of the program is to ensure that the shadow people can have unrestrained power over the masses and can keep their positions forever. That part of the program has run into a number of problems that have delayed implementation.
