Communism never changes, so Rand’s commies are totally recognizable today. She didn’t even have to overplay the *future*....they literally have one tattered playbook and that is all they use.
The *how-to* part, though: that is how Galt’s walkaway, recruitment and the Gulch were portrayed. Dagny tries so hard, expends so much energy and vital force and even then, resists just leaving the world to its own devices. That’s the choice Rand foresaw: leave, spend yourself in fighting or be consumed like the poor wretches who did neither.
