“Putin will not attend Gorbachev’s funeral”
I’m looking forward to Putin attending his own funeral.
Think Godfather 2!
“paid his respects at the Moscow hospital ...”
Least he didn’t throw him out of the window.
Western European leaders snubbed Putin’s invite to attend Gorbachev’s funeral so the state funeral wasn’t needed.
Putin is still a Communist.
Western European leaders snubbed Putin’s invite to attend Gorbachev’s funeral so the state funeral wasn’t needed.
Given that Gorbachev is not exactly a popular figure in Russia but perhaps the most hated one, a state funeral would not have been appropriate.
Bernie Sanders to attend the funeral that marked the end of the Soviet Union, I’m sure.
Trump didn’t go to King Puppet’s phony “inauguration”...
I can’t stop crying.
49 degrees in Munich last night.
Winter is coming.
Trying to avoid being at a predictable public place - someone is a bit paranoid for some reason.
Winter is coming.
And look around...
Leaves are brown now, and the sky
is a hazy shade of winter
Putin and Reagan never met. Where you get that idea?
Er, Gorby lamented the demise of the USSR. He said to USA Today in 2006 that “The demise of the Soviet Union could have been prevented an SHOULD HAVE been prevented.”
Of course he is. Just because you change a country name doesn’t mean they all stop being who they are and what they believe. He wants to rebuild the soviet borders as much as he can and more if possible, nd be regarded on the level of the other czars who expanded territory. Not much time left.
And to be clear i think all sides of this conflict are wrong. No side is right in this. Putin. Zelensky. Biden. They are all sucking hard to legacy build and destroy the world.
In German, it's called nasskalt, or "wet cold."
My teeth — and my entire body — were trembling uncontrollably. And I was wearing three or four layers under a down jacket.
That's good, isn't it?
There's a picture going around on the internet that supposedly shows Reagan greeting people on the street in Moscow (perhaps in Red Square) with Putin — who would have been a young KGB agent at the time — in the crowd.
I believe the picture has been debunked. At the time, Putin was posted to East Germany, probably steaming envelopes open, or some such.
Funny that there are a great many supposed conservatives and pretend patriots who don’t realize this. The Evil Empire is still the Evil Empire; barbarians with nukes and no aspirations short of world domination, anyone who speaks with other than condemnation of anything the Russians do is no better than any unreformed Stalin apologist of the 1930’s or 1940’s, at best a useful idiot.
