Poland estimates its World War II losses caused by Germany at 6.2 trillion zlotys ($1.32 trillion), the leader of the country's ruling nationalists said on Thursday, and he said Warsaw would officially demand reparations.
Poland's biggest trade partner and a fellow member of the European Union and NATO, Germany has previously said all financial claims linked to World War II have been settled.
Poland's new estimate tops the $850 billion estimate by a ruling party lawmaker from 2019. The ruling Law and Justice (PIS) partyu has repeated calls for compensation several times since it took power in 2015, but Poland hasn't officially demanded reparations...

Reparations are the rage in certain quarters nowadays slavery here in the USA right so why not I guess.

Russians did bad things to Poland but Germany did some super bad things right on Polish territory the Extermination Camp Heartland of the Reich.

Why are they bringing this up now? Poland already got substantial “reparations.” After WWII, Poland was awarded a huge chunk of Germany that included West Prussia, most of Pomerania, and all of Silesia, and this territory contained major cities such as Danzig, Stettin and Breslau. West Germany gave up all claims to these territories in 1972.

I do believe that Poland got a significant chunk of German territory and all its contents after WW2 from which they expelled the ethnic Germans which they did not kill.
The Romans invaded Britain back in 43 AD. So do the Italians owe the British reparations?
I believe Poland acquired quite a bit of German territory after the war, east prussia, Danzig etc
They might as well demand that the Germans take back the land that the goddless Russians took from Poland (as a result both of an agreement with Hitler and Soviet expansionism at the end of WWII) and return it to the Poles.
Or try wishing on one hand and pooping in the other, then seeing which one fills up first.

Well, half of that should probably be billed to Russia too, since Germany and Russia colluded to invade and divide Poland between themselves. Plus Russia should also bear an additional bill for enslaving Poland for nearly 50 years.

All of which were disputed territories that had been batted back and forth between Poland and Germany (and other petty states subject to or vassals of Poland and the HRE, Germany’s predecessor), for many centuries.
Difference now is they let Germany rebuild so they can afford it. :-)
