However, in a band roughly marked by the Kentucky/Virginia border, there has been disastrous flooding from Nevada eastward. The concentration in the fairly narrow band is abnormal.
The band I believe corresponds to the jet stream that is further south than usual.
So, all things considered, it there more rain than usual or is it merely concentrated.
But, the phenomena is weather and not climate
Living at the extreme southern end and actually just outside of the band, we have experienced the coolest and wettest August in memory
Up here on the NJ coast we had one of our warmer Augusts.
