How Russian Corruption Is Foiling Putin’s Army in Ukraine
U.S. News & World Report ^ | August 31, 2022 | Paul D. Shinkman

When Russia moved 85% of all of its land forces toward and into Ukraine to break the stubborn and unforeseen local resistance, one thing became obvious: the move yielded a fighting force far smaller than the assessments of the country’s vaunted million-man army.

The Kremlin previously stated it could field a total of 900,000 active duty troops, with Russian President Vladimir Putin now calling on his military to grow by 10% as a tacit admission of the problems it faces in its war in Ukraine. Questionable organizational decisions in the Russian military and a series of misguided political assumptions hampered the fighting force from the outset.

But those missteps are inflamed by widespread corruption within the Russian military, officials and analysts say, such as common practices among recruiters of overstating the number of enlistees they say they signed up to skim funding for the difference. The Pentagon now believes Russian dysfunction will prevent it from reaching even its recruitment goals from before the invasion, let alone expand its military to more than 1 million troops.

The Russian military was a paper tiger way overhyped by the military industrial complex for insane defense spending. America, ALONE, spends 10x more on its military than Russia.

But Russia is learning. And getting better and more lethal every day it is in combat.

“America, ALONE, spends 10x more on its military than Russia.”

That is imaginary math, which calculates that Netflix is worth more than General Motors, etc.

All propaganda, all the time.

Those who write in the media halls,
Roll their sh*t into little balls,
Those who believe those words of wit,
Eat those little balls of sh*t.

Drunk Russian soldiers in Kherson fired assault rifles at FSB officers in deadly incident
According to the Investigative Committee’s report, at about 8 p.m. on June 19, Igor Yakubinsky, Sergei Privalov and D.A. Borodin, three officers attached to the sub-division Military Task Force No. 9 of the FSB entered the Food Fuel cafe on Ushakova Avenue when they discovered two contract soldiers, Sgt. Sergei Obukhov and Junior Sgt. Igor Sudin “idly spending time, consuming alcoholic drinks,” according to the Investigative Committee documents.

The FSB officers remonstrated with the enlisted men for drinking while in uniform. Obukhov responded by removing his sidearm and firing rounds into the floor, the report stated. Privalov tried to grab the gun, whereupon Sudin started spraying the security servicemen with rounds from his AK-74 assault rifle, as Privalov and Yakubinsky returned fire.

Obukhov, Privalov and Yakubinsky “died on the spot,” according to the documents, while Borodin and Sudin were “hospitalized with injuries of varying degrees of severity at Federal Naval Clinical Hospital No. 1427 of the Russian Defense Ministry, located in Sevastopol,” in occupied Crimea. A fourth FSB officer, unidentified in the documents, fled the site.

Drunk Russian soldiers in Kherson fired assault rifles at FSB officers in deadly incident

In WW2, the Soviet forces were 'encouraged' by Commissars and GRU members embedded in the units. This was not a big problem during defense & retreat stages of 1941-2 when patriotism was high. Later, when the situation was stalemated and the on the offensive, unit actions could be for 'meaningless' objectives, chosen by command for political and/or propaganda reasons.

What command discovered was that such actions frequently had high casualty rates for these Party Apparatchiks. At first the remedy was to have these people at the rear of the formations. Then, as the problems continued, they looked at the bullets to see if they were Russian or German/Axis. Problem there was that there were a lot of German guns to be picked up on the battlefield, especially small handguns.

Wonder if this report is not similar in nature?

Foiling so badly that Putin only captured a $ trillion in mineral and energy resources - and more than half Ukraines shipping ports - and will keep it.
