Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr Mehmet Oz is proving to be a slippery figure when it comes to pinning down his stance on abortion.
—-Break—-
“I do believe life starts at conception, and I’ve said that multiple times,” Dr Oz said at the event, according to The Daily Beast. “If life starts at conception … why do you care what age the heart starts beating at? It’s, you know, it’s still murder, if you were to terminate a child whether their heart’s beating or not.”

Has it occurred to anyone that the media doesn’t report on Oz unless it suits their purposes? Thanks media, what you think is an attack piece actually helps Oz.
Uno mas, por favor.

FReepmail me to be added to the list.
COULD he consider it murder AND oppose a federal ban? Asking for a friend.
If he read the constitution and agrees with the USSC, he most certainly can think it’s murder and oppose ANY federal abortion legislation
I see no contradictions in what he said. It is murder and the current reality is it is a state issue.
Wow-—the stuff I read today and yesterday about Oz, I’m going to start referring to him as “Dr Oz”.....I also feel a bit better voting for him now than I did a few weeks ago.
Very succinctly put.
Weird how that works huh?
Yeah, I’m going from a clothespin on my nose to just holding my nose with my fingers when I vote.
“If he read the constitution and agrees with the USSC, he most certainly can think it’s murder and oppose ANY federal abortion legislation.”
The vast majority of homicides are not crimes under federal law.
LOL....
This is the Constitutional position.
Certainly. The federal government doesn’t prosecute murder, because the federal government is not given police powers under the Constitution. That power is reserved for the states.
So if abortion is to be banned on the basis of it being the equivalent of murder, then it stands to reason such bans would also be the responsibility of the states. Though you make a federal ban under the authority of the civil rights amendments or equal protection clause, something like that which is different than police powers.
This actually may not hurt him.
Oz’s main challenge is solidifying his base. He is doing ok with Indies, winning Hispanics. But only has 70% of the GOP base. If he gets 85%, he wins. This may help.
Anyone with half a brain and a tiny bit of morality knows it is murder.
It isn’t “my body my choice”. Its a child’s body, the woman is incubating that child’s body.
I’m voting for Oz. Every Republican I know is voting for him, except for some losers on FR. Oz will vote with Republicans in the Senate. Go see him, Mastriano, and Trump on Saturday in Wilkes Barre.
The few losers on FR will vote for Oz too.
I put out my yard signs yesterday:
Doug Mastriano, Oz, and Lisa Scheller.

My niece came by and she said she’ll vote for them, even though she never heard of Mastriano.
