Dr. Mehmet Oz, the GOP candidate for Senate in Pennsylvania, compared homeless people to "zombies" in a speech that has been criticized for a lack of compassion.
"Go down to downtown Philadelphia—I see a little bit in Pittsburgh now too, but more in Philadelphia—there are whole blocks, multiple blocks and areas you can't go," Oz told a crowd gathered in Monroeville, near Pittsburgh, on Monday.
"There are addicts walking like zombies into the street with needles sticking out of their necks," he said.

Compassion is for helpless children. Facts, truth and wisdom are required to help even as children as they age. It certainly applies to drug adicts dedicating in the streets.

Nothing incorrect about what he said. Have you seen the videos on YouTube of that area in Philly where people actually look like a bunch of zombies roaming around for their next “fix”? Scary.
There’s been plenty of compassion for vagrants and vagrancy. All it has yielded is more vagrants and more vagrancy.
How do urbanites handle this?

Oz said “addicts”, the title said “homeless”. They are not necessarily the same.
Zombies, like in the walking dead, and like with the current occupier of the White House, except that, the Philly zombies still have a brain that works.
That’s exactly what is like and Philadelphians know it.
Oz is offending addicts with needles sticking out of their necks.

I’m not in those towns but I am here in Pennsylvania on the ground working outside even get a tan during the summer.
I see evidence of people living on the streets probably some folks with drug and or booze problems. I see empty adult beverage containers among other things.
Dr. Oz probably did not say things the way this news story paints them.
But there is a poverty of spirit and of humanity all over Pennsylvania.
More marijuana like Fetterman wants will not improve this situation and will only worsen it.
The smart ones move out of the city.
Fentanyl is just human insecticide.
